The future of the Community Section

As many of you know, the community section of the Help-Portrait website is powered by Ning, a white-label social networking platform. As we've begun to plan the 2010 event, we're encountering some serious drawbacks to this platform and have begun looking for alternative solutions. As a result, we wanted to give you fair warning that this area will be changing in the next few months as we get ready for the 2010 Help-Portrait season. The good news is, our new platform will import everything that exists on this platform. As we know more, I will be sure to post updates for your review.

Help-Portrait 2010 is coming, and quickly. I hope you're dreaming out it as much as we are!!

In Toronto, the CAPIC (Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication) is well into the planning stage for 2010. We have two partner social service agencies and a core team of photographers planning.

Would love an update on the goals and status of the broader help portrait effort as we recruit participants and industry support.

@George - I have recently moved from Nashville to Charlotte. I'd love to come to your next H-P meeting...even pull all of the Charlotte participants together to see how we can blow up Charlotte in 2010. Thoughts? Email me at kyle@help-portrait.com
