The first event for us in Belo Horizonte was a great success. We visited the Lar Frei Zacarias retirement home and spent a couple of hours visiting and photographing the residents. The added bonus is that they have a family day at the end of June and would like to make a display of the photos!
Big thanks to my buddy (assistant) Maria for all of her help and the "assistant social" Patricia for all her help co-ordinating the ladies.
Very happy to be part of this…Continue

Truth being told, I had the intention to put together an event locally since the very first time Jeremy Cowart called photographers around the globe to join, yet, due to my deep procastination skill, I didn't until some inspiration was given from Marcos Valdes, who, as far as I know is the only Mexican photographer participating in the country.
So i kikcked my ass off the chair and thought on who might find their free portraits valuable and then I ran into this non profit…Continue
We've had an excellent day past december 7th. About 150 portraits were printed and framed.
Mostly family portraits (including a dog). Also some friendships were established.
I guess that appr. 440 people have visited us that day.
Thank you all for your help across the globe.
This december we'll definitely be a part of Help Portrait again.
Here is the link to our video on Youtube.…Continue

This year was my first year putting on a Help Portrait event. This event was usually done in the past by another local photographer but he was unable to take it on this year so i volunteered to do it. This gave me 3 weeks to plan, organize, put on our event and i was over whelmed by how much the community came together to pull it off.
We were able to get a bunch of sponsors for the event, 13 photographers, 6 hair and make up stylists, and 11 volunteers to be hosts and 3…

The portraits will be give to adoptive parents. They love them!
Or will be kept on file as treasures.
It was wonderful to see the reaction of babies when they saw their pictures.

My students and I photographed 8 women at a wonderful place called The Jennifer House in Rochester, NY. The women live their as part of a re-entry program to start fresh and have a successful life after release from incarceration. Eleven photo students and 3 Cosmetology students did styling and photos for the 8 women and we are returning in about a week to do family photos for them. What a great day!

Here we all are, a year later and a year wiser. Just a few days away now for the Barrie event (Ontario, Canada)...
Its been an interesting year for the HP group here, our main financial sponsor stepped down as did our cosmetics sponsor. Over the past weeks, we acquired new ones, thanks to people on the HP Barrie team stepping up and going that extra mile for us and asking their companies to help.
So many many people to thank for making this years event become a…Continue
