Hello All,I hope everyone has been getting most of the updates. I feel like I have been posting in all different places and I realized that I had not made a discussion for this year. We are scheduled to be at the Rescue Mission shooting from 10am until 3pm. We will arrive at 9am to start getting set up and we have to be cleaned up and out by 4pm. Here is a link to a Google map that shows the parking lot where we park and where the door is:…See More
"Hey Sam! I am definitely planning on coming again this year, along with hopefully a few other students from VT. Last year, two of us brought our cameras and took some shots, so if that would be helpful again, we would be more than willing to bring…"
"Update: I visited the Rescue Mission on Friday and the printers are there and completely functional, so printing will be onsite again this year! I wasn't sure whether they had been used since last year, so I was very concerned. We will now be…"
"Hello everyone! I apologize for the delay in solidifying the event this year. It has been a crazy one. At this point we now have confirmation from the Rescue Mission in Roanoke that they definitely want to host the event again this year. Also, Art…"
"Yes Sam, I have a couple of Miller-Mott photos from the maek-up room. Send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will forward them via email. Thanks for arranging for this great group of young ladies to make our participants look GOOD!"
"Hey everyone! I was asked by Marsha from Miller-Motte if we had any photos of the students there working on hair and makeup. I know that some people were running around taking photos of the event, and despite my resolve to document the event better…"

I got a request to use a quote from the Help-Portrait session at the Goodwill Industries:
Yes Cara, you have my permission to use the quote for the Help-Portrait promotions. I am sorry but I do not have a name or a photo of the young man who said that to me. He said it at our Help-Portrait event at the Goodwill Industries of the Roanoke Valley Headquarters where photographers from the Exposure Roanoke Photography Club took photos of over 100 Goodwill workers. We gave each of them an 8x10 and 6 other photos for their Happy Holidays. Thanks, Art.

Hi, I'm cara and i'm the online editor at help-portrait.com. Could I have your permission to use your quote on the help-portrait blog?
"One young man said, 'My Mommy will cry when she sees this photo - I have never had a portrait taken before and I will give it to her for Christmas." -Arthur D. Sellers, Roanoke, Virginia
also, if you have a photo (and release form) i'd love to use a photo with the quote as well. thanks!
Sam, I am unable to attend today because my knee is very painful and keeps trying to go out on me. Art has my phone info and you can call me almost any time. I will not be able to accept calls tonight after 6 pm or tomorrow after 7pm due to church activities.
Sam, I will look forward to seeing you at Goodwill Headquarters at 2520 Melrose Ave. We should go to entry C on the jright hand side of the main building. We are setting up at about 9:00. See you there...
Sam, My name is Art Sellers and I met you at the O. Winston Link Museum when you introduced us to Help-Portrait. I have been talking to representatives at the Goodwill Industries Headquarters on Melrose Ave and have reached preliminary agreement that we can hold a Help-Portrait session on December 7. I hope that this is good news for you and the Roanoke Help-Porrait Community. I think that between a couple of photographers at the Roanoke Camera Club and a few at the Exposure Roanoke Meetup Group then we will have enough coverage for the session. I will be meeting with the Goodwill representatives in the next week and will firm up the plans. What do you suggest as the next step with our Help-Portrait Community. Thanks, Art.
I am interested to know how your help-portrait went last year. I am meeting with others interesting in doing a help-portrait project this year and want to know if you would be interested in joining us.
