I've been doing Family Promise for the past two years. I may pass this year due to a large project I just got involved with. Thanks for all the great work you are doing with H-P. Is there a way to make you an admin on the orig page I set up? If so I'll be glad to do it.

Until about 5 minutes ago I was planning on coming to tonight’s meeting. Unfortunately I've discovered I have a fever, an ear ache and a cough. I'm assuming the product of 2 hours out in the cold last night. Will I still be allowed to participate as a gofer if I miss this meeting?

As you will see I added the last name of the family to the image number. That way we know which family it was. I hope that was okay.

I've uploaded the photos to the Drop Box. I hope you are able to view them. Let me know if you can. I did the best I could with the photos. I've learned how it is somewhat difficult to edit photos taken by other people LOL ... I think I prefer editing my own. At least I take the photo the way I want it be. I've learned something new at least.
Maybe next year I'll try out my skills behind the camera taking portraits :)

Great! I would much rather leave the cropping to you. I was under the impression when I crop my photos to look the way I want them to that was the way my photo would look when it was printed.

I'll be using Lightroom to do minor touch ups ... White Balance, retouching of acne, etc and then will upload it to the Drop Box. There are only 22 photos from 13 families.

I believe everything went along smoothly and I know we all definitely enjoyed being a part of the event. It was just the four of us, but we held our own. Everything just flowed right along.

We had 13 families in all. I'm working on the light editing today. Did some yesterday when I got home after the event and running errands.

I enjoyed working with Kevin and would do it again in a heartbeat. Love his personality.
George and Jeff did a great job with the families and their photos. Deb was keeping things flowing as the families came in for photos and left with goodie bags. I was pleased that I brought my large screen iMac so the families could see their photos immediately after I downloaded them and choose their favorites.

Now that I have a taste for what the event is all about ... next year I will be even more prepared and help the group that will participate next year. I hope that Kevin will have us back again :)

I have one tiny little bitty question that is nagging me and has me worried that I might mess up the cropping of the photos. George did his best to explain to me, but maybe it if was written down where I could read it I might understand better. Lip reading can be difficult at times, but I hate to be a pest. :)

What size am I supposed to crop these photos to?

When George showed me how to do one he made it a 4 x 6 and this is where I am confused. How can you print an 8 x 10 photo out of a 4 x 6 crop?

Michael ~ I just wanted to touch base before tomorrow. I plan to be at the location in St Augustine (1955 US1 South ... I'm assuming this is the Ponce De Leon Mini Mall?) 8am to help with set up.

One thing I'm confused about is if there is no WI FI at the location how am I to upload the photos to the Drop Box from the memory card?

I am assuming I need to bring my computer or a laptop of some sort to download the photos to a file on my desk top, return the memory card to the photographer, and then when I get home edit them then upload them to the Drop Box? Will I have a place to set my computer if I brought it with me. I am thinking I will just bring my iMac if there is room for it. That way the files are already on the iMac and I can either start right then and there with the editing if needed and will continue to do that until I upload them all to the Drop Box. If I bring my laptop, I've got to figure a way to get them downloaded to my iMac where all my editing software is. So I figured I would just bring the iMac and get everything in the same spot.

I've never done this type of project before so although I'm very excited about helping out, I want to make sure I don't get in the way and just do my job that is asked of me.

I want to make sure I understand what is expected of me beforehand so that things can go smoothly.

I looked for the other messages of our conversation regarding this and I can't seem to locate them :/

I'm assuming we can dress casual for this event tomorrow?
