Although the afternoon shift begins at 1pm and lasts until 4pm, we need all of our "PM-ers" to check in no later than 12:30PM for an afternoon briefing. We will have balloons situated outside at the entrance of the Connector Gallery for those that are not very familiar with Lowe Mill ARTS and Entertainment.
Your afternoon assignment will be a volunteer Host. A host walks a client through all their stations, listens to their stories, grabs a bite to eat with them, and a host gets to ultimately share in the experience and see the transformation occur. Christy Lang will be available to talk through this position in further detail on the 10th and answer any questions you may have.
If you ordered a sandwich from Happy Tummy, please remember to bring $5 cash for each sandwich ordered, and exact change would be most helpful ;-) If you signed up to bring a snack to share, there is a collection table in the back where the printers will be situated. Our hospitality team will take care of setting the food out for you.
Thank you again for making this day a reality for so many, and we will see you on the 10th from 12:30pm - 4pm!

We are so excited to be able to serve our city, and we are so grateful that you chose to share in this experience. The event date is December 10th on a Saturday from 9:00am – 4:00pm. We are asking the AM volunteers to check-in no later than 8:30am. We will be breaking the day up into two segments (9am-12noon, one hour break, and then 1pm-4pm). As volunteers, you have the option to stay for the entire day, or to stay for part of the day.
For logistical purposes, we are needing each one of you to respond/email back a couple of informational bits....
- Which shift (or both) would you like to volunteer for?
Which station would you like to participate in (hosts, kids, hospitality, hair, make-up, photography, editing, framing, check-in, etc..)?
I understand that some of you have already provided some of this information. However, we are currently consolidating all of our volunteer feedback, and we noticed that we still have some informational gaps.
Also, the new Help-Portrait T-shirts are now available at: (http://help-portrait.rede-commerce.com/products/featured/clearance/black-logo-tshirt/) to wear the day of the event. If you are not able to purchase a t-shirt before the event date, we will have Help-Portrait volunteer lanyards available for you to wear.
Lastly, We will be sending out the volunteer assignments right after the Thanksgiving holiday. Hey Lindsey,
We are about to get rolling with all the HP details for the city event at Lowe Mill this year. We actually have a good list of volunteers, but their information is scattered in different places. I'm currently working on a Google doc that is attempting to collect all the information we have into one location so that nobody misses anything. If you are still interested in participating this year at the mill, is there a particular area you are looking to serve in?
