Nope- HP hasn't created anything like that. You'll need to create one of those on your own. ;)

I will be traveling extensively during this trip and most likely will be on the road (traveling long distance). 8 pm CST will be 6.30 am on 8/10. Most likely I will not be able to attend the kickoff meeting. HOwever I will definitely attend meetings after that as I will be back on August 16th.
Thank you for including me.

I will be on the lookout for the meeting notice. I will be visiting home (India) from midJuly through midAugust. If I am in town, I will definitely attend.

Thanks for your compliments. I learnt a lot from this portraiture experience. I was looking at the histograms on the LCD (of my good old Canon 10D which is 6 years and 12000+ images old) and I was getting a good exposure curve. Lots of flexibility to slightly change the image in photoshop elements to get a better image in terms of levels, brightness, contrast, sharpness etc. The lightmeter is a big blessing.
The family photo I enclosed in my previous post is of my family that I took with a similar set up. I took it on self-timer. the background colors and our dress really compliments good. Decent on pose but kids are unpredictable so I had to hold my sons hand. My daughter is usually fine with poses. Probably this is our best portrait yet of our family.
Still in the process of making my softbox. Need to make a background using muslin/dye from Joanne Fabrics.
When doesn this group meet ? In December ?

I will definitely come and help out. Most of you guys are professionals and know a lot more than I do. I can help and learn at the same time.

Jessica, Thanks. Families were very happy and the kids loved to see the pictures on the Camera LCD. Groupd were from 2-8 and some had extended families too. If they didnt like what they saw on the LCD, I took it again. It was good learning for me too trying to meter the light, adjusting for posing, adjusting my f stop between 8-10 depending on group size to get more depth of field (although i didnt change the light output). Simple equipment did the job and I am sure they will be pleased. Last time I did it, I got a lot of thank you note from the families especially kids. Often the portrait photo occupies a prime spot inside their apartments.
I dont have twitter account. I dont tweet (whatever the lingo is). I will try to contact them. Thanks a lot for replying.
Here is a picture I took of my family with the same set up at my home.

Jessica, I did the event on April 28th at Perspectives and I took pictures of 31 families in 90 min. I had 2-3 photos per family. Although I had plans to make my own softbox/background, it didnt end up that way.
I borrowed a 9.5' x 17' background from General Mills Portrait studio which worked out very well. My softbox is not done yet. However I used a shoot through umbrella with 2 flashes at half power as hte main light, and another flash mounted to a silver reflective umbrella as the fill light. I put another flash on a tripod and hit it on the background as background light. It worked out ok. I have to adjust the photo (levels, brightness, contrast, saturation etc) and crop to 8x10. It was a great learning experience. The families were thrilled and will be glad to receive an 8x10 print along with a few 4x6's and wallet size 2x3's. General Mills will pay for the prints.
I used Yongnuo 602 wireless flash triggers and they fired 100% of the time ( i must taken about 90-100 shots in total and they fired every time) - cant affort pocket wizards.

Jessica,
I will be doing this event again in April (28th) at Perspectives (www.perspectives-family.org). I added a few things to my kit this year in addition to my main flash Canon 550EX (and hopefully will make it better?). I got 2 Canon 540Ez (old film camera work horse flash) flashes, 4 wireless flash trigger (so I can trigger upto 4 flashes wirelessly); build (Do it Yourself) a portable 24"x36" soft box (so I can focus the light better for a small group of people (6 or 8). I am planning to make a 10'x20' muslin grey background (DIY) so I dont have to do a lot of background tinkering in photoshop elements. I will connect 2 canon flashes in my softbox which i can place slightly above hte camera. use one other flash for separating subject from background (either put this behind the subject aimed at their heads or use a boom and hold it above them to provide hair/head light on top. I have the flash and wireless triggers. Need to build the softbox and background in the next 2-3 weeks.
I will do a test run before the event so I can get my set up right (with light positioning, light power, background) etc. I do have a light meter that I can use to get the camera-light set up right.
what do you think?
