Dennis Dixson has not received any gifts yet
Currently we have no plans for a December 2011 event. My recommendation is to go out and do a one on one type project. Forget the event mentality and put your efforts into helping individuals and families. Keep it personal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm helping plan a Help Portrait CWE Project on April 16th, the weekend before Easter.
The main Help-Portrait Project is coming in December but our non-profit partner asked us to put something together for Easter. It also seems like a good way to sort things out for the worldwide event later this year.
The church has a food outreach program that runs on Saturday mornings starting at 10:00 am and the Help Portrait CWE project would draw clients from that program. Volunteers for HPCWE would show up at 9:00 am to set up the photography equipment, printing stations, hair and makeup stations.
The event is being held at:
Second Presbyterian Church
4501 Westminster Place
Saint Louis, Missouri 63108
This is an opportunity to use your skills to give something back to others who can't afford to have a quality portrait of themselves or their family.
I would like to know if any of you would be interested in being a photographer or doing the photo printing. It would be great if people could team up and provide a "complete" photo station. Backgrounds and stands are needed because of the space we are shooting in. The paper and ink will be provided, I would also like to have the printers provided.
Each photo station needs people who can supply laptops for editing and printing.
HP Photo Station Gear List
Camera / battery
Memory card / spare
Lens for portraits & group shots
USB cable (tether) or CF reader
Laptop / Editing software
Flash Triggers or sync cord
Background stands
2 light stands
2 strobes or flashes
Sandbags or weights !!!
Light modifiers (umbrellas)
Extension cords, batteries, spares
Outlet strip / surge protector
Though this list is pretty basic it may seem daunting to someone who is just getting started. The solution is to work as teams and to combine skills and hardware as needed. Let us know what you have or need and we will try to pair you up with someone who compliments your resources.

I have a question for you to discuss off-list. Could you please contact me directly, with the email addy I put in the form?
Thanks

let me know if it made it through.
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for adding me. I would be more than happy to help in any way. I have a decent studio setup, a couple strobes, softboxes, umbrellas, and a 5 ft Octa. I don't have a usable backdrop at the moment. I do have a laptop, and can shoot tethered, but I have not had any real practice doing so. I also have no facility for printing, and I'm still a novice in Photoshop. If nothing else, I'm pretty good at running for coffee, LOL
Let me know how things are going, and we can work something out, I'm sure.
Mike
