I have been involved in photography since the early 1990s. My primary education is in zoology so much of my inspiration for photography comes from nature. My zoological training led to many hours studying the intricate behaviours of animals and the environments within which they exist. This experience has taught me to quietly observe and photograph nature, capturing rare moments when an animal reveals a part of its character or when a landscape pulls back its curtain.

To further develop my skills in observation, I recently studied Miksang contemplative photography. This meditative art form has transformed my view of the natural world and enabled me to see it in its simplicity; at the same time it has encouraged me to take a more confident, gentle and meditative approach.
