Hi there,

Wellington Photographic Society will be running the 2010 Help Portrait (with Brenzen's okay) so if you're interested, please let me know.

We hope to get heaps of volunteers on the day and would be keen to take photos across the Wellington region.  So, whether you live in Porirua or Petone, Wellington or Wainuiomata, or anywhere in between, please touch base and let us know what you can do.

If you have any contacts with organisations that would like to be involved, please let me know who to contact there.

Thanks!

Thanks Thomas - we'll mention it at the next meeting too but if you know of anybody else, please let me know.
Hi there, yes I would like to be involved again. I had been meaning to get in touch with Brenzen as I've been getting a group together for this year's shoot. Will also have available a couple of indoor venues (with Christmas themes), and possible access to some musicians to liven up the day (assuming that is appropriate). Have also been in contact with a couple of organisations who are in a good position to bring people in for their portraits to be taken. Hey, let's meet up to discuss (021-2510279).

Cheers,
Clarence
Hey Clarence, that sounds great! I think musicians are a very good idea. Last year we had some around and I think everyone liked it a lot.
Hi Zelda,

not sure how it was at other locations but at what I think was the "Miramar" location, we had stacks and stacks of photographers for a very low number of clients. I think each of us got to shot about one "client". It was fun and everyone was glad to help but there was a lot of idling among the photogs. Just something to think about regarding distributing the photogs and/or making sure that each location is well-advertised.
Thanks Clarence - sounds good. I'll give you a call later today.

Hi again Thomas, I agree with your comments. It was much the same at the other venue but I think we can make a few little changes that will hopefully make things easier all round. Chat soon.

Hello all!
Sorry I missed your call Zelda- perhaps we can catch each other again tomorrow?
Okay, here's what I've got so far:
- Elim International Church (on Tennyson Street) is kind enough to let me use their venue. There are a couple of large rooms with large windows, an art studio with paintings, and a dance studio which we could possibly use. Their open space carpark has an old red building with grafitti which could be used as an outdoor backdrop.
- They are planning to hold a Christmas Exposition (family and school oriented) over a two week period covering the 4-Dec for the community, which means there should be a steady stream of people coming through.
- I have got 3 photographers already plus a couple of people who can handle registrations.
- I have got in touch with Kaibosh food rescue (search for "Kaibosh" on facebook) operations manager who is willing to work with us to spread the word through their network.

Let me know when you guys would like to have a look at the location and I'll get the keys ; )

Cheers,
Clarence
Clarence, this sound fantastic!

Would musicians be appropriate in there?

I've got contact addresses for last year's two person band (piano & singer) and could contact the if we think that's a good idea.

Hi Thomas! Yes, musicians will definitely be welcomed. Although there may be restrictions on type of music played due to the venue (e.g. Marilyn Manson- ha ha)

Cheers,
Clarence

How are plans going? Looks like things have come to a stand still. Today I have sent an email to Birthright Wellington asking them if any of their families might be interested. I couldn't find your email details so I gave them your WPS secretary email address. Could you send me your details again - I lost you business card. Also, is there any way to delete last years info from this site - makes it confusing if you are looking for this years stuff?
