Permalink Reply by Michael Lupino on November 10, 2009 at 4:27pm While I appreciate the sentiment and the struggles this one particular family is going through I think that one photographer would be more than capable of giving them the kind of gift that this project is offering. As a group of people I think we have the capacity to serve a much larger good. If we have a full-on crew...a few togs, a couple of hair people, and a couple of mua's we could roll through a good sized group of people like those present in any of the venues that I mentioned above.
I think that if you personally wanted to do something nice for this family you should knock it out of the park for them. But as a group project I think we could make something far larger happen......

Permalink Reply by Eric Fadden on November 11, 2009 at 11:20am I think a womens shelter would be a great idea. Samaritan House is an option for a contact.
I also feel like a local support group...perhaps Mothers of children who have passed from SIDS or suffered another tragedy and can use a *pick me up* of sorts.
Breast Cancer patients/survivors, YES. How fitting as BC awareness month has just passed....
I am happy to be involved no matter the final decision.

Do you have any contacts at Samaritan House?

Permalink Reply by Eric Fadden on November 11, 2009 at 12:13pm While I do know someone on the board of Samaritan House, they prefer you go through the *chain of command* so-to-speak;) Here is a link to local charitable organizations and the contacts for them. I do hope this helps and if you would like to set up a time for us all to get together to work up a formal proposal to present, I would be available. Typically, because of discretion issues, organizations do prefer some sort of legit proposal they can consider that highlights everything, and everybody involved before they make a final approval.

Permalink Reply by Eric Fadden on November 11, 2009 at 8:58pm I am feeling like we can't really decide on anything until we know who is willing to accept the offer (which organization).
Perhaps a meeting between us is the first step to establish some basics about what each of us can offer, our current schedules (so we can establish a timeframe) and put together a "plan" and then we can start making some calls to find out where the best place is to put our efforts into. I am happy to write up the final proposal and make the calls or visits to the organizations if no one else wants to....
Once we know who is serious about accepting the offer, then, we can pinpoint specifics on all other issues.
Just a thought.
