It was great meeting with Eric, Cathy, Andi, and Kristine today. We hashed some things out, got some ideas down and we have a path set. Andi Grant is checking with the YWCA to see how many families they can supply us with, but we're shooting for 200 families to be photographed on December 12th.

They have a location that would give us room and electricity. Cathy is supply an onsite printer! I think that is going to be so amazing that these families will be able to walk out of the site with a picture IN HAND.

Andi Grant will be helping us with the post processing and will be ordering CD/DVD's to be able to give those who have computers at home their images on a disc.

Kristine Marie is the only make up artist we have right now. She's helping in many organizational ways by creating a packet of stuff to give to possible people that we would like donations from.

I am going to be contacting some massage therapists to see if they would like to set up chair massages for them as well. Eric doesn't know it yet but he'll probably be helping me with a couple other things too! :) Thanks Eric.

The plan for now is for Dec. 12th from 10-6 plus set up and tear down.

We are still looking for more make up artists and hair stylists so please help us find some. Also, some of these people like Cathy, Andi, and Kristine will be spending some money on this and any help that they could get we'd really like to rally around them so they don't have to feel the brunt of it.

All in all it was a great meet up. We'll have another one soon.... this one involving food cause man we were hungry! If you weren't able to be at the meeting that's ok. We'll still be able to put you to work! :D More info coming soon!

Tell me what you need and consider it done good sir. :-) Couldn't believe I came out of there without an assignment!! This meeting brought some great people with great vision together though and it was so great to see the energy in peoples' eyes as we were discussing all of this.

I'm casting my vote, in advance, for Chipotle for the next meeting. Lol - ever since it came up in conversation it's been on my brain!!! :-)
I hear that! Chipotle it will be! And PS. I knew you'd be the first to respond to this post! ha! We'll talk soon.

Hello All,

I'm not sure if I'm joining properly but I've taken the steps to join Help-Portrait and my intention is to join the Virginia Beach Group. I would love to join in on the 12 December event to help those in need. I just received an order of DVD's for business use and I can provide 200 if needed.

I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Edward Lee; I'm a photographer (part time) in Hampton Roads, while I do the full time military thing. I shoot weddings, portraits, groups, and pretty much anything that I can get in my lens. I've been very fortunate and I would certainly like to help out.
It was great meeting everyone and hashing out some ideas for this event and for future ones.

Thanks to all who visited and looking forward to adding some more faces, hands and talent to the bunch!

Hello KristineMarie,

I've sent two previous messages to the group but I'm not sure if it went to the correct place. When is the next meeting (if applicable) scheduled for?)

so far I heard back from ISODISC and they are donating 100 cd's. They aren't going to have the silk screen Help Portrait logo, but she said they have a nice paisley print on them, so it's better than just a generic disk.
my daughter Amanda spoke with a woman at YWCA and she had to check with the board to see if they can approve this. We'll call the back tomorrow.
woohoo! That's awesome Andi! Thanks so much for your work!

Welcome Ed! I'm glad you're here. You can kind of see where we are in the above mentioned post. We'll have another meeting soon probably once we need to talk things out some more, but as for now this is the most updated info we have (everything in this discussion.) I look forward to working with you!

Being that I'm kind of late to the discussions, I'll just say I'm game for whatever and where ever the group decides to focus the effort. I'm standing by to assist and I'm ready to shoot!

I'm sorry I was unable to make Monday's session. Please keep me posted to project developments.

Don't worry guys we'll keep everyone updated! I'm excited about everyone who is here to help out! Thanks for showing up here!
Ok - this board REALLY needs to default to subscribing you to whatever thread you've replied to. I had no idea that all of this had taken place since I last posted. Ugh!!!

Anyway - this is all awesome news....very very cool stuff. So, we've got a line on the YWCA as a possibility. Kristine....any word or contact with Samaritan House?

Andi - rock on with the donations! :-)
This progress is totally awesome. Thanks everyone for your "can do" attitudes. I belive doors will open for us to be able to help touch peoples lives and give them a little hope even if just for a little while.

To Michael, Eric, Andi and Kristine - I just sent a personal email to you that was sent to several of my other friends who want to help out with this. I hope they will join this forum I- I did direct them to it. So I'm excited and hope everything moves swiftly a tthis point.

Great meeting you all and I can't wait to hear more.
