Ubuntu Help-Portraitis a volunteer photographer movement that has its foundations in Help-Portrait. It is based in Johannesburg South Africa.

It is the largest Help-Portrait group is South Africa and it has given the greatest number of portraits in the global Help-Portrait community.

In 2011, over 13,000 portraits [up from over 5,500 in 2010] were given to people in needy communities. Many of these portraits were mounted on hard board decorated by school children.

Membership of the group is open to all photographers and volunteers.

The 2012 edition of the project will be launched in July 2012. The target of 25,000 free portraits!that eluded the group in 2011 is firmly in its sights again! A number of new exciting initiatives will also be piloted during the year.
