Ubuntu Help-Portrait is a volunteer photographer movement that has its foundations in Help-Portrait. It is based in Johannesburg South Africa.
It is the largest Help-Portrait group in South Africa and it has given the greatest number of portraits in the global Help-Portrait community.
In 2012, over 16,500 portraits [up from over 13,000 in 2011] were given to people in needy communities. Over 36,000 free portraits have been given in 4 years.
Volunteers based outside of the Johannesburg hub, are also invited to join the Ubuntu Help-Portrait Chapters that focus on volunteers in other cities and towns in South Africa and Swaziland.
Membership of the group and the chapters is open to all photographers and volunteers.
The 2013 edition of the flagship Free Portraits programme will be launched on Thursday, 30 May 2013. Click here to view the details.
The target of 25,000 free portraits that eluded the group two years in a row, is firmly in its sights again!

Comment by Ubuntu Help-Portrait on November 8, 2012 at 3:51am @Tania: Don't worry, we've done that for you already and taken the images offline too. If you need to move any, just move them within thr folders - just as you would with files in Explorer ;-)
Please also use the specific event's wall to pen comments or issues related to that shoot or it's images [rather than this group wall] ;-))
Comment by Tania Robbertze on November 6, 2012 at 12:17pm Hi - I loaded the Bridges of Hope pics into the Presentation folder instead of the Print folder. Very sorry - how do I move them?
Comment by Tania Robbertze on November 5, 2012 at 1:48am Hi Stanley - are we meeting tonight? Can you put up address and invites to everyone? X Tania
