St Petersburg, FL USA 2011

Information

St Petersburg, FL USA 2011

I see there's a Tampa and Tampa Bay group, but think we could also serve those living on the Pinellas side of the Bay. Who's with me? I think we can get the Pier to allow us to use their indoor location for the shoot.

Basic Information for Volunteers

This shoot will be at the St Petersburg Pier on Dec. 12, 2009. The times are not yet firm, but will probably be 11-4 or somewhere around there.
Walgreens will be providing free 8x10" prints for the clients.
Photographers are needed, makeup artists would be appreciated, as would hair stylists.
For the photographers, you will be shooting inside or outside the Pier. Whatever your choice. You will be asked to shoot, then edit your favorite shot then burn a CD with all your favorite images on it. Ideally, each photographer will have the opportunity to shoot MULTIPLE families and set ups. How many? As many as you're willing to do. The Pier is a central location and I'm hoping that many people come to have their portraits done.
We will be advertising in the local newspapers, as well as any TV, Radio plugs we can get to attract our clients. Spread the word!

how is the advertising going? any idea what kind of turn-out to expect?
i recently moved to the area, so i don't have many photographer contacts, but i will do my best to spread the word. :)

Hi Maria:
It's actually up to you how you handle it. The main obligation we're asking is that you give each subject one edited photograph. Walgreens has only agreed to print one 8x10" for each subject.
If you wish to distribute the rest of the shoot to the people, by all means do so, but it's not one of our requirements.
My idea, still being worked out, will be for each photog to put their edited shots on a CD with the file names being the names of the subjects so Walgreens can print and file to their names and the subjects can come in and pick them up.
I'm trying to keep photog's obligations to a minimum except for the shooting, but whatever you choose to give above and beyond will be greatly appreciated.

Hello!
Just discovered this today, such an incredible idea!
So, we are to choose and edit just one shot from each family/ group? and the rest of our favorites (unedited) go on a disc to them? and the individual families order the print from walgreens, not us... correct?

PS. I am shooting at the Clearwater Jazz Fest this weekend and will check with the photographers I run into there to see if I can find someone that might want to help and would fit in with our group. :)

I'll help with logistics and get some people to volunteer to help us. I think my friend Marla might be able to help . If so, she'd be great. Amanda may be able to help us to. She's off on Fridays and Saturdays. Plus, Gene and my friend Nozomi. We'll have plenty of help. Don't worry about that!!!
