Hi there - this is a sample letter that you can use to help raise money to pay for the printing.  Please modify it as you will and send it out to your folks.

Dear Friends - 

On December 10th, I am participating in a world wide event called Help Portrait.  The premises is simple and powerful.  On that day, photographers, videographers, makeup artists and other professionals worldwide will work with non-profits, schools, churches and other community organizations to photograph people that wouldn't normally get professional family photos. We will set up pro quality photo booths, take their pictures, and print them out so they have something to show their friends and families.  It is an amazing experience to see so many people work together and to see the smiles when people see their photos for the first time.  To get a sense of what I am talking about, please look at the videos on Help-Portrait.com.  I promise you'll be moved by what you see.

For the past two years in San Francisco we work with 1 community organization and have averaged about 200 people being photographed.  Which was amazing and we've thought that we could have done more. So this year we have expanded to 5 community organizations in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.   Even if we maintain the per site average of last year, we are looking at photographing over 1000 people.  And that will be really amazing.

We have the photographers, lighting and the gear.  But we need help paying for the printing.  We need $500 - $600  per location or about $3000 total to pay for the printer, paper, ink and CDs (we are also giving digital copies to people that want them).  Any extra money will go to buying frames and other ways for people to show their pictures.
