So, we have realized that we do not ant to put off anyone from helping us out by limiting the actual photographing to our students. We really want to make this a great experience for all involved and several of you are happy to work with us. What we would like to clarify is that photographers will also be working with First Exposures students to create the portraits that day. This would mean that we really want our young photographers to take a leadership role, but they will also really benefit from your expertise as well, so we would love for you to be flexible with us and help us make our kids shine that day as well as making some beautiful portraits.
By participating with us you will not only be making portraits for those in need, but you will also have the chance to provide added benefits to the deserving youth of First Exposures! As Joey told me, it's not just the shooting that is important that day, but everything from lighting to editing to framing to greeting. All of this will be great for our kids to experience and learn from.
We still need and want lots of help. If you would like more info, please contact us at firstexposures@sfcamerawork.org or reply here.
Thank you all! This gonna be great!!!

Permalink Reply by Suzy Kosh on December 1, 2011 at 8:27pm Hi, Erik. I'm an elementary school teacher and part-time photographer, so this sounds like a blast. I have a 50mm I'll bring, and Lightroom 3 experience, so I've signed up for slots for that, and for sign-up and clean-up, too. Please let me know how else I can best help that day! Thanks, Suzy

Thanks so much for joining our crew. We will try to be in touch beforehand, but otherwise we should be good to go. Thank you for signing up for slots already.

Permalink Reply by First Exposures on December 9, 2011 at 9:28pm That works totally fine. Sorry I was MIA. We were setting up the Opera House today. Thanks Ruel, but if Joey needs you in the Mission please do that. We are good to go, but would have loved to meet you and have you there as extra hands.
Good luck tomorrow!

Permalink Reply by Suzy Kosh on December 9, 2011 at 9:31pm Erik, anything I need to know about parking for tomorrow, is there a parking lot? I'm not on the schedule until noon, do you need any help before then? Can't wait! Best to you, Suzy
Permalink Reply by First Exposures on December 9, 2011 at 9:33pm Hi Suzy,
Parking may be just down to street parking, but there should be plenty. I hope. I would say to please come a bit before you start just so we can get you oriented. Just look for me, Kate or Ingrid.
Thanks and looking forward to meeting you.
Erik
