Yep, they are providing pretty much everything we need. We will have five stations set up for portraits. We have hair/MUA, working on getting more assistants for the photographers......there will be some food if we can get donations. It's a pretty amazing space and we are really grateful for the opportunity.

Participants are responsible for getting themselves to the studio, which is accessible by three different bus lines. We are focussing on single parent families, teen parents, etc.

If you would like to arrange to go to a Shelter or other agency, go for it. I am sure they would appreciate it.

Yeah I get it. I've watched the videos. Why not just show up at a Shelter and do this, rather than a studio? How are we getting people to the studio that day? Is Sandbox supplying all of the seamless, lighting, grip, etc.? or just the location?

Would you be interested in being a back up photographer in case someone has to pull out at the last minute?

This isn't about "us". It's about helping people in need in a unique way. Have you watched the videos? It's pretty powerful for some of these folks to get a picture of themselves. Sure, it's not food or shelter, but sometimes it is the little things that make a difference during the holidays.

Thanks but I'm not interested if I can't help out doing what I do best which is phtoography. If it's simply about helping people in need, there are far more things that people could use at this time of year rather than a picture of themselves.

Matthew, the PDX Help Portrait is the group that is a "go" for the 12.12.09 Help Portrait event. Unfortunately, a bunch of people started groups for Portland, and a lot of us are members of all three groups. I was the one that got the ball rolling, so to speak. Join up the PDX Help Portrait group, that's where all the info is being posted. Also, we are set for photographers, but need assistants and back up photographers, just in case. If you can come to the December 4th meeting, that would be great. 7p at Sandbox Studios.

IS this group connected to the other Portland OR group? Sorry for asking, but it's very confusing. Not to mention this whole ning network is somewhat confusing for a newbie. ANyway, I'm a photographer, wanna shoot, have all of my own equip, lighting, grip, crew, etc. Would love to participate. What's the word on the next meeting? Feel free to call me at 253.653.4924

We have two work stations for hair. We do not need anymore hair/MUA at this point, Mary, keep working with your connection, I promise to have some more information posted later today, probably later tonight.

If you have people who are going to help, they need to contact me so I can add them to the list. This is the only way to keep track of everything! I don't want 20 hair/MUA showing up when we don't need that many.

We are set on photographers, we need assistants and probably one or two more admin people for day of shoot.

Also I wanted to know what kind of "work stations" will be available for hair and makeup, should I bring stuff ? Chairs, tables, mirrors?
