New Help Portrait site launched today!

I think we should start brain storming about a good locations and see what we can come up with, or if anyone has already been doing this, share it with everyone! We're all in this together and it will be amazing to stay up to date as a group and not make it too much individually based.

Absolutely! I am ready to being as well. How about everyone else?
I agree! I am not a photographer by any means and would love to help out in any way I can. Organize, promote, be a runner...whatever needs to be done. This is going to change lives and impact so many people! So excited!
Oops...just caught my typo...I mean ready to "begin!" :)
So depending on the amount of people we have who are interested in doing this, I would say we find a large area where we can bring people to us. Coordinate a way to have accessible transportation (bus line) and if we get the kind of support an volunteers we can even shuttle people.

I can reach out to some of the area venues, but it'd be great if some people had ideas of locations and then had some people actually reach out to them. I think the ideal situation would be to have a big auditorium like space. What about you guys?
Yes, some type of large area- I was thinking of studios, but I hate the limited space of them and want everyone to be together participating :)

Hey Sean,

A couple of us are reaching out to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. Michael H. suggested that this would be a location we could easily get 4 or 5 setups going at once. If we are able to max out the location there are other things in the area that we could work with.

What do you think?
Hello Everyone,

To introduce myself my name is Misty Miotto. www.MistyMiotto.com. I have been watching your group for quite some time and would love to offer my support. Sean I think you have a very valid point. At this stage I think keeping the location centralized would allow us to help more families efficiently especially those who may have diabilities and be harder to transport.

I have done several charity shoots over the years as well as produced fundraisers benefiting the Childrens Home Society and Community Action and HYN. My mother is also the founder of HYN (Help your Neighbor) in Orlando a non profit that helps families in need in Orlando.

There have been several charities that I have considered donating my time with on 12-12-09 but I just can not walk by this opportunity to help the Coalition for the Homeless and I commend you all for what you have done thus far. I actually have another event late that afternoon for HP so it will be a very long but rewarding day for me and I would love to help you guys in anyway I can. I agree with whom ever mentioned before that this event is more then just people getting pictures. In effort to make my event later that day a more well rounded event with more meaning behind it I arranged for a Mr and Mrs Santa Claus whom have volunteered their time to be there handing out candy and Ms Claus will be face painting. I also have on my core team a few shooters a videographer covering the event a couple of runners and greeters and I am waiting on a reply of availability from one of the best makeup artists in Orlando. I have spoken to my team and they would love to also donate their time to the Coalition event as well if you guys are interested.

I have a crazy schedule next week but I will make time if we want to put our heads together join forces and make this event an even bigger success! More is always merrier :0) I recently got back from assisting in putting together a post Katrina Charity Shoot in New Orleans for the families who lost all their memories in Huricain Katrina with my wonderful family from Pictage! It was a huge success and would love to share the logistics of how the event was managed as far as post production and delivery if you are interested. Here is a link to an article written about the charity event that was published in the Times-Picayune :http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf/2009/11/portraits_created_f...

I look forward to hearing from you all! God Bless! Misty Miotto misty@mistymiotto.com
