Event Details Update - 29 Days To Go
A small group of us were able to meet with the Director of Volunteer Services at the Coalition for the Homeless today to take a tour of the main campus facility and map out potential space for the shoot on 12/12. They are providing enough space that should enable us to have 4-5 indoor portrait stations, space for make-up artists (which we still need), and a conference room where we can set up laptops for some post production work. In speaking with the director, she indicated that she would prefer it if we just had the priniting done off site and then delivered the prints to them for distribution, which simplifies things a great deal as far as logistics go.
There are also a couple of good outdoor spots including a playground with some great colorful props that should make for a great setting for shooting the kids (they currently house 92 children). So in addition to the indoor portraits, it looks like we need some photographers who like to shoot outdoors in natural light (yeah, less lighting equipment hassles).
The Coalition also has a second campus location about 5 minutes away. Depending on the number of photographers and assistants, that can commit, we will try to cover that location as well.
We are going to ask Sam to set up another conference call this Sunday evening to get everyone's input on the next steps. Check back for the exact time and details once he has things set up. In the meantime keep sharing your thoughts and ideas.
