Over the last 2 years, since Help Portrait first started, we've grown from the idea of a single photographer to an international program with over a thousand sites and tens of thousands of volunteers touching countless lives.

In Central Florida alone, we were able to grow from 300+ portraits in our first year with Coalition for the Homeless to 5 different sites serving over 1,500 families and individuals in need.

We've grown as individuals, we've grown as an organization, and we continue to grow as a grassroots movement with a goal of giving back in the communities we’re a part of.

This isn’t to say we haven’t had our own share of setbacks. In previous years we've had generous donations from local sponsors, altruistic individuals, and even grants from local organizations. This year, we haven’t had the kind of luck we did in previous years with fundraising.

For printing alone this year, we’re expecting to need about $1,200 worth of donations to be able to provide prints at all of the Central Florida locations for all of the people we aim to serve.

At this point, we turn to the community we're a part of for support. You've helped us grow, have been a family to us, and we're asking you to help us, help others.

There's no right way to help us raise the money we need this year for our print materials. We could get a generous sponsor willing to provide the entire amount, we can provide our photography skills in trade for a donation, or we can even pool together and raise funds by ourselves. It may only take 1 person to donate $1,200 to reach our goal, or it can take 60 people donating $20 each to reach the goal.

At the end of the day, one of the most critical parts of our mission has always been to give prints to the people we serve. There’s nothing that brings the light to someone's eyes like seeing a portrait of themselves, or their family, for the very first time.
