0 Comments 1 LikeEVENT CANCELLED: Nov. 9th, 2011 - I hate to announce that we have failed to get enough funding in order to make this years Help-Portrait event happen. We had booked a school gym and have had great support from the photography community, but unfortunately we were not able to get enough donations to make this happen. For example the school gym was $500 not including the cost of printing.
I encourage each of you to find another venue where you can contribute. Help-Portrait is worthly endevor for each of us to partispate in.
Thank you for everyone who stepped up to volunteer for this event !

==============
We had our first meeting today with a charity in Reston regarding this years (2011) event. We are working on logistics, a location, sponsors and a number of other issues. But I would like to start a thread to see how many photographers are interested in participating in this years Reston Help-Portrait event.
Please let me know how you would like to be involved.
Area of Support
If are a photographer and have studio lighting please list any resources/equipment that you could provide.
We currently are planning for a 10:00 to 4:00 pm day. If you are only available morning or afternoon please let us know.

Permalink Reply by Lee Love on June 22, 2011 at 1:59pm Cathrine that is great. I just got word today that we will have a team of makeup artist on board as well.
Do you have enough equipment to setup a complete station such as background, lighting, etc ?

Permalink Reply by Capital Portrait on October 12, 2011 at 6:49am Hi Lee,
Do photographers provide printing equipment as well, or just lights and background? Also, will there be the option of a photo station in natural, ambient light (my preference) or is this all indoors?
Looking forward to participating in this wonderful event.

Permalink Reply by Lee Love on October 12, 2011 at 9:01am C Davila the printing is the hardest part of this entire project. I am trying to work with either Canon or Epson to provide us with printers and supplies.
But right now we don't have a printing solution. I am open to suggestions or leads on how we can handle this issue.

Permalink Reply by Michael Kelly on August 24, 2011 at 7:56pm I'd be interested in participating as a photographer. I have studio lighting that I could provide as well as light stands, backdrop stand etc.
Permalink Reply by Lisa Sinclair on August 31, 2011 at 7:52am Hello Lee! I am a photographer and I'm interested in helping. Also, I have a team of friends that are looking to volunteer - they are not photographers or makeup artists but they could be photography assistants or general volunteers.
