UPDATE: NOV. 23

I not sure where the disconnect happened but I just received word that now Ritz would be charging us $1.78 per 5x7 print to have their printer on site. We were expecting up to 200+ at this Reston event and so $300-$400 was not part of what I planned and certainly not what the charity was told.

So as a result Reston Interfaith and myself agreed it would be much better to cancel this event due to the last minute changes.

Obviously I am disappointed but I do want to thank everyone who stepped up to offer their support and help in what could have been a great way to help others.

I encourage everyone to look for another venue or way to give back.

Update: We are go for Dec. 4th. We will be working with the Reston Interfaith (restoninterfaith.org) to provide individuals and families with photos.

They currently do not have a location but I should have that info soon.

I would love to help with the Reston event. I'm a photographer, however, if there is an are that you need more help with, I can do that instead. I'm open to helping in any way, shape or form. Just let me know <3

Lee, I have interest in helping. I have a backdrop, stands, umbrellas, and a couple of speedlights. I can either shoot or assist. Last year I was part of the Central Union Mission team and last year I also brought my MacBook Pro to download all of the photos from the 4 stations we had set-up. I have also done a couple of events on my own at a Senior Citizens apartment complex. We did not have a m/u artist at Central Union, but I did at the Senior Citizen shoots and having someone do make-up and hair can really enhance the experience of the event.

Do you have any additional information with regard to this event?
Any more developments on this event? I would love to take portraits or be a volunteer!
I should have a confirmation next week and complete details so we can start putting a volunteer list.
Hey Lee, I am a photographer in Fairfax and I have a full portable studio set-up and battery pack in case power is limited. Let me know what I need to know to be involved.
Hi! I've never heard of this before...but I think it's fabulous!! Can't wait to help out! I shoot for family and friends with my D40x...so I'm not a professional and have no other equipment, but I would love to help with staging and assisting photographers on the day of if possible. Please let me know if you can use my help.

Update:
I met with the Dir. of Communications for the organization we would be working with. She is very excited about this opportunity and had some great questions. She was not able to give me a 100% yes at this meeting because she had to check with a few other principles but I feel like this shoot will happen.

I am waiting to find out how many people she expects we would serve in order to know what level of resources we will need. But in the mean time it is important we get our ducks in a row and find out who and what is available.

I will start posting a list of people, specialty and equipment available so you can start planning.

If you are interested in participating in ANY way, whether it be logistics, working the printing station, running CF cards back and fort or Makeup and Hair styling Please post your interest.
