Donations: Printing Equipment and Supplies

Here's my plan for gathering Printing Equipment and Supplies:

I will be going around to different retail locations asking for product donations. My goal (which may be wishful thinking) is to get at least one Canon Selphy CP780 4x6 printer for each location we plan to do on-site printing at. I will also try to get retailers to donate extra printing supplies so we are sure to have enough to go around. All of this will be in addition to any printing equipment that us as individuals can provide.

I will also ask for donations of supplies that will work with any printers we can provide ourselves. Just be sure to provide me with the make and model of the printer so I know what to ask for.

Let me know if any of you are willing to help out in this effort so that we better our chances of getting more equipment and supplies, which would allow Dec. 12 to run smoothly.

When you said tomorrow were you referring to Saturday or Monday. I am available both days. I can meet up with you at an agreed location if you like.

I plan to visit the retail stores Saturday, November 14. I was thinking of going to a couple Best Buys and Staples in Virginia and then heading up to Rockville, MD and visit MicroCenter as well as another Best Buy and Staples. Where in Northern VA are you located? Maybe I could swing by and pick you up so we can run around to all these different places and see what we can get.

I live in Germantown, MD; I can meet you either in Arlington, Springfield or Rockville.I am not too far from Micro Center.Call me at 301-591-9743 and we can set up time and place.

Willis, as I said, I'll get you the exact model number of my printer tonight but I can do up to 8x10 on this thing. If someone brings a lappie with photoshop we can edit them if needed, or just do it straight from the printer. Whatever ya'll want.

Sounds good. Yeah, a laptop would definitely be an option especially if we'd need/want any on the spot editing done. We just have to keep in mind that we'd need a person who is quick in Photoshop so we can keep prints rolling off the printer at a steady pace. That's the great thing about printing directly from a CF card, it's quick and easy.

Yeah, I was planning on hitting them up while I'm out at Micro Center in Rockville.

Great. I'll try and get at least one whole ink set for it, which I read should give you around 115 4x6 prints.

Sounds good. I think I actually have a packet of 4x6 paper here, Polaroid maybe. Never used it so....

Willis,
I was talking to some friends of mine who shoot events and I'm pretty sure I can get my hands on at least 2 Selphy printers, maybe more. getting supplies would be a big help.
