Sub-group for Manhattan. Reply here if that's your area, and mention whether you want to organize or participate.

I'm game to help as needed. Given the kind of talent the Manhattan crowd can provide I suspect I'll be more useful on the organizational side of things.

That's great Mike, do you want me to promote you as administrator of this group?
Jérôme,

I suppose I can do that. What does this entail?

At this point, not much as the group is not very active yet. It will allow you to open/edit/close discussions, basically anything that I can do as the creator of the group. It should allow you to send a message to all members of the group too, a feature that will become useful as we get an organization going (potential meetings announcements etc).

Okay. I'll do it.

Hi there,

I definitely want to do this. I always give photos to friends and family as gifts, but it's even better to be giving this gift to people who normally wouldn't get such a gift.

Is there a set standard? B&W vs Color? Do we process on our own and pay for printing and such if we don't have access to a darkroom?

Cheers,

Nicole
Hello everyone, I would love to participate. I love the idea of being able to give back to my community this way. Let me know what the next step is.

Thanks,

Katie Jane Parker
I'd like to participate.

Where will this thing happen?
Hello Nicole,
There's no set standard. Film, digital, color, B&W, it really doesn't matter. Other groups have found places that would print for free (such as Walgreens...). That'd be a conversation to have with the stores managers on a case by case basis.

Hello Katie,
The next step is to get together to brainstorm a bit more effectively and get things really going. If somebody wants to organize that part that would be great. Maybe meet in Manhattan a weekday evening?

Hello Mike,
It can and will happen anywhere. It's a global movement. Hopefully we can get things going in each borough. People are needed to take initiative.
