HELP PORTRAIT TOMORROW---
SOME WORDS of GRATITUDE
We are only a day away from yet another beautiful, exciting, stressful, yet rewarding Help-Portrait event. I wanted to take some time and thank all the volunteers for you commitment and especially to the Lead Organizers of each site, your leadership is amazing. White light and positive energy to you all. Can't wait to hear about the transformative power photography will have on the lives of our people.
Onward!

Still needed: Make up artist for each site. Please reach out to your contacts. We are in desperate need for more MUA.
This is NYC folks! We only have four sites. Please feel free to connect with other photographers, organizations, churches etc... and have a Help-Portrait by your local community. Set it up on the street, near a hospital etc... but for some reason we only have three sites down a lot from the previous years. So, go ahead and be courageous.
If you are interested in volunteering please message me Will Salomon.

Hey guys! There's no real organizer of this in New York. A few people in the area choose locations and then do a call for volunteers. It all comes together a couple of months ahead of the official December date, which gets announced later in the year.
I know I'll be planning to organize a group for a women's shelter in Brooklyn, and will probably start putting it into action in September. I'm going to need several photographers who have gear (lighting), and several people who have computers and printers, among many other things. So if you're interested, feel free to get in touch with me in September and I'll be happy to put you to work!
Comment by Ashly Covington on May 25, 2012 at 10:40am I am new to the project and the group. Would love to get involved. Are there any group meetings/hangs planned. Not sure how this community works. :)
Comment by Guido Venitucci on May 25, 2012 at 10:33am Is this group still active? And does anyone know anything about the event in December?
