I too would like to volunteer as a photographer. I have worked the two previous years with Brenda Murphy's group in Alexandria. I haven't heard from Brenda this year, so I guess that group is inactive. I can bring all the equipment needed for portraiture.

This is going to be a BIG one ! We definitely will be needing lots of volunteers and different types of help. HAIR AND MAKEUP PEOPLE !! We have never requested you before - and this year we will NEED you ! PHOTOGRAPHERS !! Come on !! General Helpers !! We need everyone. This is our THIRD year doing this, and this is one that will actually have flyers posted and will allow and solicit outside walk-ins.

Looking to join a group next Sat. Have 2 strobes, umbrella, sb, backdrop. It's not terribly clear how one goes about joining a shoot, or even where they are!

I just joined Help-Portrait last week after hearing about it on This Week in Photo (TWIP) and had planned to do a charity type shoot at an assisted living home in SE Washington near where I work in my day job even before hearing about the organization. Figured this would be a great opportunity to provide portraits to the residents of the home. I haven't received any feedback from the group leader yet on where else my time would be better served so unless I hear otherwise I plan on doing the shoot on Saturday the 4th here in SE Washington. It's near the Washington Navy Yard on M Street SE. If there is anyone that would like to join me I could use the help otherwise it's going to be a one man show.
