Help Portrait Melbourne 2011 was on yesterday and we had a great day.   5 photographers, 50 people photographed and a score of volunteers to bring the event to life.  The Image Superstore in Melbourne provided the venue and it was an awesome space.  Great photography by Alex Gardner, Grace & Larry from Candybox Photography and Mare Sieling.   Awesome sponsorship from Image Superstore, Exponet for furniture, Breadwinners for lunch and Fareshare for beverages.   This year we were also able to go mobile and visit the Childrens Hospital for a family.   A great day had by all and congratulations to everyone who committed, and participated on the day.   You did an outstanding job.  THANK YOU.

Hey all,

 

I can be available around Melb's if there's anything going on. Not much gear but will support and assist with lighting, shooting, retouching and grabbing coffee if needed.

 

Is anyone active now for 2011 or will I be up for 2012?

 

Touch base and we'll discuss.

 

3 weeks for submission to the collection of "story portraits" for the 2011 world event so I get there's still time. I'll be busting my chops and it matters enough to do it so I'm there... If only I'd been more aware sooner.

An important focus of our 2011 planning to date has been how do we expand in a measured and sensible way. One of the outcomes of that work has been to arrive at a number of new positions on the planning team. I have joint HP for quite a while but have not been active (work commitments). I am now retired and have time in my hands to be more active. I am keen in photography and is mainly self taught, If I can be of any use to your group in the next photo session, I will be most interested to participate.

Hi Tina, I just registered. I do not have studio experience, but have photographed portraits for a while now. Also have a lot of photoshop and lightroom experience.
