Here are the notes from the 12/6 site visit. We are now communicating by email, so if you're not on the chain, email Amy Leavitt to be added!

But don't worry, we will also post high level details here and on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Portrait-Las-Vegas/203063504272)

Name Badges
We talked about also wearing name tags/badges. Do we still want those to be custom?
Will one person to volunteer to be in charge of name badges, whatever their form, so that we will be sure to have them on Saturday?

Stations
The site visit went well and everyone is excited about us coming out. There are lots of great places outside for more informal portraits, but we will set up the main stages outside under what is normally the parking area (which will provide stable lighting conditions all day), with the inside rec room and dining area to be used for styling.

If you weren't able to come today I will post site pictures on help-portrait and facebook so check those out to see what to expect.

Photographers - you will want to dress for the experience of being outside in the shade most of the day.
Stylists - it was kind of toasty in the center, so be aware of that when planning your wardrobe.

Models
We also settled on referring to the teens as our models (thanks James!). Right now, there are 36 models signed up, but there are 6 who are under 18 years old, and the center is still working to find out if we will be able to work with them. So as of today, we have 30 confirmed: 19 male and 11 female.

The team at the center said just to talk to them like anyone else...don't be afraid of them, but be aware they may not open up. Denise took it as a to-do to get some common talking points together, but if you have any ideas, please share them as well!

Time
We decided it still works for volunteers to show up around 7am for set-up, and the models will start coming over at 8am. If you know anyone else who wants to come out or donate anything at all, don't worry about having too much...we will be able to use anything and everybody!

Contact
Please remember to email Amy with your phone number so we will be in good contact on Saturday. My phone is 702.622.4696. We agreed to continue with email for important details as it is easier than using the site. I will post high level information to the site and to facebook for anyone who isn't actively on the email chain. Just fyi...I will be out of town for work on Tue night through Thur, but should still be able to update at night.

Location
If you weren't able to come today, I will post exact directions with a few pictures from the road to make sure everyone has an easy time getting there on Saturday morning! Check out either facebook or help-portrait for those.

Photog equipment
Still I think the most important thing we will need is lighting (including reflectors which can strech a flash or strobe to work double duty). If anyone can help us max out these supplies that will be terrific! For equipment that requires a plug, we will need long extenstion cords (think for your lawn equipment), so please be aware of that and anyone who has any please throw them in your trunk (I have one I can bring).

Miscellaneous
I've attached my original set of notes to this email for anyone who is interested and hasn't had a chance to check them out otherwise. Denise has noted before that the original videographers had a conflict and will no longer be participating. We will still have a camcorder onsite and plan to do at least some fusion videos for YouTube and the like.

See you on 12/12!
