Hi Everyone!
We had 12 volunteers show up at our meeting on Thursday night. We have 7-8 photographers on board with 6 volunteers to assist with setup of equipment and helping throughout the event! Thank you!

I talked with Toni from The Loft hair stylists and they are on board again this year bringing 7+ stylists...they helped last year and were AMAZING!!! They are also seeking sponsorships for the day. Thank you!

We will take candid photo journalism type photos of the event (photographers taking photos of photographers taking photos!) AND the portrait images that will handed out to the models and will be used in the photo gallery event scheduled a few months from now.

Al Powers would like all the photographers to contact him and let him know if you will be taking candid, photo-journalism photos or portrait photos of the models. You can contact him through Help-Portrait. He is also seeking support from Paul Mitchell.

I spoke to Kiki who is from Tribal Minds marketing and this is what she is doing for the group: contacting local media (TV, newspapers) and providing a press release; she is going to find us a red carpet to use for the models to walk on as they are escorted to the photo stations; a Hollywood back drop for the wall like we had last year; coordinating the gallery event with the Susan West Center; and seeking a $500 sponsor to help print the images and frame them for the gallery event. She is very excited to help and support us! She said at the rededication ceremony the Mayor Oscar Goodman, elected officials and representatives toured the newly redecorated center and were impressed with the life size portraits that are mounted on all the walls as artwork. I can't wait to see the center!!!

We are going to have a field trip, site visit this Wed. at 4:00 pm. If you're available, great! If not, check out the Face Book Help-Portrait, Las Vegas for photos I will take and post.

Many of you have expressed an interest on helping yet are unable to make the meetings...no worries! Just be in contact with Al Powers so that we can have a spot for your photo station with back drop and equipment or if you are shooting candid shots.
Please keep watching for updates and check your emails as we get closer to the event.

If I forgot anything, can someone please reply and post it to this discussion?

Thank you!
Denise

Thank you! You're talent and giving back to the homeless teens is amazing Brenton!
What time is the event on Dec. 4? I'm trying to make sure that I arrange everything so I can definitely be there. Thanks!
last year we arrived at 730am and the kids got into make up at 8.
And how long do you think it will run? I can be there early, but I might have to leave for 45 min at 9:30 but I can come back. Let me know, then I'll email all my info.
its a volunteer structure, we will all understand if you have to leave early. :) Last year Brenton and I stayed until around 7pm at night just hanging out and getting some one on one time with the kids.
