This was awesone!
We just wanted to thank everybody who was a part of Help-Portrait Fort Lauderdale and wish you the happiest and most peaceful holidays. We handed out the pictures today at TheSalvation Army, a total of 235 prints to 70 families/individuals. We had a few minor glitches but the quality of the interaction between the people was just great.
A quick thank you to the "core team": Dawn Dunsmore-Event Coordinator, Kelly Galiciewski-Photography coordinator, Zaakirah Muhamad-Volunteer coordinator, Enrique Martin-IT and Systems lead and Michelle Cameau-Hair and Makeup lead who made an excellent job and it was an absolute pleasure working with you. A special mention goes outto Presscott as the one who coined our collective name "The Soul Catchers".
Here is part of a message from Lilly Gallardo from the Salvation Army that I wanted to share with you:
"I wanted to thank you very much for choosing The Salvation Army as your partner for your first Help Portrait project in Broward County. We believe it was very successful and we hope we can work together again.
Here at The Salvation Army, hearing touching stories of people in need and desperate for help is part of what we do. But I am always moved when I hear people open their heart to us. For me it is a privilege. I guess we never think about how important it is to capture a moment. Some of us take it for granted... we want a portrait... we go to a photo studio. But giving the opportunity to capture a moment to the families we saw on December 10, was very important to them and to us. I'm glad you all were there to make this possible.
Thank you again!"
We are already looking forward for next year and we will have a better, bigger event!
