Notes from meeting on September 2, 2011
We are hoping to expand Help Portrait Austin into two locations this year, a north Austin and a south Austin site. Several people have said they will ask their point of contacts in support of providing a location. If two locations are available, Chuck Murphy will head up the north Austin site and Manny Jimenez will lead the south Austin site.
A creation of a database with names, role, and location is being done. This will also help in figuring out proficiency of talent so that we can equally distribute people in case we have not enough people/talent at either location. We want as close to equal expertise of photographers/hair and makeup, editors, and volunteers at both locations. Send your information to Manny at the email that is provided later in the notes.
Possible locations with nearby access to bus routes is highly preferred in cases where transportation may be an issue. Some suggestions to get church buses to help transport people was mentioned and we will consider taking action once we have more finalized details.
Photographers, Photo Editors, and Hair/Makeup networks are being contacted for assistance.
Printing will be done on site.
Some members are inquiring various equipment manufacturers and related businesses to help sponsor the event in providing items such as use of lighting, photo paper, blank CDs, and inks.
Some videographers are being contacted to provide video archiving this year.
Along with printed photos that are given to the family, we will also provide them with images on CD of the shoot so that they can take them to HEB, CVS, or some business where they can choose what photos they want printed on their own aside from what we print for them.
Our next proposed meeting date is September 22, 2011 at 7pm. Location to be determined.
We want to ensure the importance of this event and want people that have committed to this cause to stand by their word. And to those that cannot make the event but can help out in other forms, that assistance is really appreciated.
Questions, suggestions, ideas, comments, and the information I requested for the database are to be sent to email@example.com
I will try to keep everyone as informed as possible about every 10 to 14 days or so to give a progress on what is going on.
If something was left out from last night's meeting please let me know, I do have a photographic memory but sometimes my memory card is full.
