Update about locations etc have went out VIA email... Please let me know if you are not on the email list and would like to be. Here is the email text:

So for those who missed the meeting and those who want to know what I was typing the whole time at the meeting.

We decided that we have some great ideas of locations that need Help-Portrait. The ones we are focusing on at this moment are:

YWCA
Gladys Ray Shelter (spelling)
United Way
Galleria Apt Fire victims
Rape and Abuse Crisis Center

Carissa is going to be asking Sams Club if they want to donate any prints to the cause. Ann Arbor Miller is contacting the YWCA to see if they are interested. Robby Njos was awesome enough to participate in Help Portrait last year at the Gladys Ray Shelter and Rape and Abuse Crisis Center so he will be getting in touch with contacts over there.

We worked on ideas for Photo Releases as well ways to protect the volunteers.

Help Portrait has some great downloads already on their website so we will utilize those. We have some great numbers of volunteers this year and when we get the final "ok" from the locations then we can divide who goes where.

Again if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me via Email/Text/Phone 701.730.0422

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and I will chat with you soon.

ps I have added those who have since joined the cause.

I will keep trying to update everyone VIA Email but they will also be up on the Facebook group as well as the HP Community page (links below)

Hi again -
I used to work in the hotel industry. I could possibly contact the manager at the Kelly Inn on Main Ave in Fargo. That is if there is not a location in place. If someone could let me know what plans are in place and what is still needed I may have ideas. I have generally been pretty resourceful.

Hello -
I am an amiture photographer and great at planning events. If there is anything I can help with I would love to know how. What are the plans for our community? How is it being advertised?

Robby has been pretty busy lately but I believe I am still on... I do know of some mary kay artists as well as maybe bringing someone along to video it with my D90 or something. Keep me in the loop so I know what we need and don't need.

Starting to get ramped up and exciting about the fall 2010 event! So far, because of the colder weather here, we are planning on having our event in Fargo earlier than the nationwide event (before Thanksgiving). Stay tuned for more information as we get things organized and ironed out. So far, our plans/hopes include:

* Many volunteer photographers!
* Many volunteer helpers (photo editors, stylists, etc.)!
* Centralized location
* Help from MAT for transportation to/from central location
* Food/snacks on location
* A great time for everybody :)

If you know of somebody that wants to help out, make sure they join this forum and leave a comment so we know about them!

Congrats again Robby! Looking forward to Saturday! Hopefully next year we'll have a little more time and organize a larger number of events. I'm sure I know a few other photags that would be willing to help out.
