Comment by Josiane Faubert on December 13, 2011 at 11:46am Hi everyone.
I couldn't make it last saturday as i was very sick. I am sure it went very well. Is there any way of seeing the portraits taken on saturday (facebook, blogs??). I would love also to hear about your thoughts.
Thanks
Josiane
Comment by Raymond Henderson on December 8, 2011 at 2:05pm If you are are bringing a printer, Epson printers are preferred. Also bring your laptop.
Comment by Amy Cesal on December 8, 2011 at 1:33pm Also, please label your memory cards with your name or initials with a permeant marker or whatever. It will help ensure they get returned to you as the day gets a little crazy. Thanks!
Hi All,
The Beacon House staff will be on-site at 9:00 am to let us in and set up.
The Beacon House is located at:
601 Edgewood St., NE, Suite 15, Washington DC
They are on the second floor.
If you have a card reader PLEASE BRING IT!
We could also use another printer.
It would also help if you could bring extension cords and power strips.
Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. If you have any quesitons, please let us know.
Heidi, thank-you for setting up the call and thanks for the agenda. One question discussed at our meeting on Thursday is how many prints a ticket entitled an individual to receive. Photographers can do many different poses and combinations of family members. Additionally family situations can be complicated. So what a ticket means and how many tickets per person is a good question to address. A companion question is do the tickets apply to prints or to the photographers station?
I've put an agenda together for the conference call on Monday. If you are not able to get on the call, but would like to contribute to the discussion please post here or email me. I will post a summery here after the meeting.
Agenda
a. Who they are and what they do
b. Estimated number of clients (last year vs. this year)
c. Best use of space provided
d. How to provide tickets and how many
a. Number of photogs shooting
b. Who has a complete set up and who still needs a set up
c. Who will bring their own assistants; who needs assistance
d. How many groups/individuals/families to put on one card
a. How many printers
b. Best way to move client from photo area to printing station
c. Crowd control at printing station!
d. Fair way to call client to printing in the approximate order they were completed at the shooting area.
Hi All. My office conference bridge can only accomodate 10 people so I have set up another one that will allow everybody on without problem. Please note that this is a long distance number. Most cell phone plans include long distance so I hope this is not a problem. If it is, please inbox me your number and I will call you. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
Date: Monday 12/5
Time: 7:00 pm
Conference Dial-in Number: (559) 546-1000

@Caroline. In addition to what Heidi stated, I would encourage you to bring your camera. Teaming up with another photographer is a good way to learn quickly.
Comment by Caroline on December 2, 2011 at 9:19am Awesome, thanks!
Yes, yes and yes! Welcome Caroline! Not one volunteer last year was standing still. We can use people to hold reflectors, run cards from photog to printing station, behind the action shots. I will be setting up a conference bridge for more discussion for Monday. Details to follow on that. Please post any questions you may have.
