Hi Group,

I am excited that a Columbia H-P group finally exists! Help-Portrait is planning a big event to provide donations to Haiti through art sales in individual cities. I just happen to be the featured artist at Cool Beans (College St. downtown) from Valentine's Day until March 28th. I would gladly invite and encourage you guys to use space on the walls to hang some of your work!

We will need to create a plan to market this event. A good way to start will be to build this group. Please invite any photographers you know in Columbia that would like to get involved!

Also, there's a good chance I could be leaving Columbia in the near future once I find a job. Please be thinking about whether or not you might want to take over this group in case that occurs (I have a phone interview next Tuesday at 2.. positive thoughts and/or prayers would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks everyone and hope to work with you guys very soon!

Tia

any suggestions where we can hang our work to get sales? I recently took a trip to New Orleans and have wonderful prints from this trip. Just trying to figure out to best way to matt the photos and the most cost effective way. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hey Tara,

I'm hanging my work in Cool Beans so you are more than welcome to add some of your stuff for a couple days. They shouldn't mind since I'm the featured artist and the only person with art up.

I cut all of my mats myself.. but it takes about a month to order the mats and size them down. I would stick with the pre-cut mats at Michaels as the next most affordable option.

The next goal is to advertise so people know about the event. I have been distracted with job interviews but we can always send something out on facebook. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Anyone else can add some stuff as well! There's plenty of room.

Have a great day,

Tia
