Today has been a wild ride for me. Sister Care emailed me first thing this morning to inform me that something came up and they were going to have to reschedule/cancel our use of the conference room. I am waiting on word tomorrow about a church that is in that area that works with Sister Care some that has a fellowship hall that is larger than the conference room is. They don't have anything scheduled in the hall for Saturday but I'm waiting on the secretary to get with the pastor for approval. I should hear from her tomorrow.

Also, they have not been reaching out to as many women as I would hope for and we only have 10 families from Sister Care scheduled. I have scheduled two other families and I'm working on getting in touch with other shelters and churches to invite other families in.

I am shocked and incredibly disappointed in the lack of help that I have received from Sister Care on this event. I just don't think that they get how wonderful of a gift this is for families that can't afford a portrait of their family.

But, anyway....I am still hopeful that we are going to get other families to come in and I will send out an update everyday on this for the rest of the week. Please don't get discouraged and feel that you won't be needed at the event. I am going to do my best to get in touch with as many folks as I can. If you know of anyone that could benefit from this, please invite them. If you know of groups that help people, such as your church, please contact them and tell them that we are here and that they can contact me for more info if necessary.

I know this is supposed to be a one-charity event, but have you considered reaching out to group homes associated with the center for disabilities, or somewhere like Epworth Children's Home for children that come from less than great family situations? It would definitely be last minute, but if the photos are going to be at a church you don't necessarily have to limit yourself to this sole charity anymore. If you would like any assistance with reaching out to another avenue, please let me know what I can do to help! -Rachel Baldwin, 843-338-9589, ragoulet@yahoo.com

I have reached out to some other shelters and churches and had to leave a message, waiting to hear back from them.  There is another church in the Lexington area that has a huge community outreach program that I will be getting in touch with today.  Feel free to reach out to any other group that you can think of.  I would appreciate the help reaching out.  It's such short notice.  You can have them get in touch with me to schedule the individuals so that we have one master schedule.  803-360-0499, tina.hammer@hotmail.com

Thanks Rachel.

Hey everyone Tina's internet is down so she asked me to share the following......

"We have secured a place, a church near Sister Care. I'll post the address tomorrow. Still trying to reach out to other families. Everyone please reach out too if you can. Call me with any questions"
