I have chosen Sister Care to be the organization that we help out. They are very excited that we will be helping out the families that have used their services. What I would like to accomplish is giving women and their children that have been in abusive situations and have gotten help from Sister Care a nice portrait for Christmas. A lot of these women have lost a lot including their self esteem. I want to help lift them up for a moment in their lives and help them to realize that they matter. We will be working towards getting a nice portrait for them to have by Christmas.

This is going to be a huge project for me and I'm going to need lots and lots of help from anyone that is willing to help out. There is a lot that goes on besides taking the pictures and even if you are not a photographer and want to help I would welcome the help greatly.

Here is a starting list of the things that I am going to need. If anyone would like to volunteer or know of someone that can help provide the material things needed, please get in touch with me.

1. Volunteers: People to do/be the following.
Sign in person, greeters, runners/assistants, hair and makeup, props/clothing assistant, photograher's assistant (someone to help with the subjects being photographed), photographers, editors, call places for donations or help.

2. Material things:
Extension cords, power strips, photography lighting, stools/chairs to pose subject on, backdrops and stands, props/toys, hair styling items, makeup, clothes (clean out your closet, any nice womens or childrens clothes that they can wear and take with them if they need something nice to wear), laptops, donated toys to give to the children as they leave, image printing (printing companies).

3. Monetary donations: There will be expenses for things that are not donated (i.e. printing of the portraits). All monies not used for this event will be donated to Sister Care as well as any left over clothing and toys.

4. A very large space like a gym or large office to hold the event in.

This is my starting list of needed things. Please spread the word around to your friends so that we can reach more people that might want to be a part of this.

Oh...sorry you can't make it.  Doesn't look like many can make it tonight.  I'll get in touch with everyone after and fill everyone in on things.  I still would like you and Josh to come shoot with us.  I don't think that will change after tonight.

Yay!!!!!!  We just secured the location.  It will be in the Sister Care Conference room @ 1820 Morlaine Dr., Cayce SC 29033.  Here is a link to the map for directions.  http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Hi Tina!  I am looking forward to helping out.  What areas do you still need covered, nothing is too small or to big to ask!

I am welcoming all able people to come help out with anything and everything. The specialty things I'm particularly looking for (but if these are not something you can do doesn't mean you can help out) is someone that has a laptop with editing software that can edit on site and someone that can assist with hair and makeup. My plan is to have the women pick out which image they want and then that image get edited and loaded onto a memory stick that I will collect at the end of the day so I can process all the images for printing. I'm getting so excited about this event and am really looking forward to it. I'm glad that you are willing to help out.

I have a laptop with software, I can definitely help with editing and such!  Count me in!

Awesome!!!  Looking forward to seeing you there.
