Hello Everyone! How are is everyone been doing?

Well what a year it has been. From switching careers, selling our first place in Pitt Meadows, buying a house in Chilliwack, joining The Tiny Light Foundation as a director and recently becoming a dad for the third time, yes life is beautiful and crazy at the same time.

With that said, unfortunately I have had no time to help plan and organize the HP event in Chilliwack for this year. And at this point I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to take it on themselves as a huge amount work is required upfront to make it a successful event; sponsors/funds, media press, get the word out, location, equipment, printers, photo paper and frames, and of course volunteers.  

I would love to keep this group and plan something for next year. Yes it seems like a ways away but next thing you know it the event will be a month away again. So lets meet in the Summer of 2013 and make this a huge success next year!

You guys are awesome and thanks again for your interest and willing to help out this community.

Thanks Arnold. We have sold our place here in Pitt Meadows and currently in the process of buying one in Sardis. Hopefully it will not be too much longer until we move. 

Hey Matt and good job Mandy. Yes I am looking for a web designer to create a a help portrait chillwack site. The site needs to include a blog feature along with a photo gallery. I love working with Squarespace but wordpress is also another great app. If interested in taking on this task, I would be very thankful. Of course I would help out with the initial setup and the content. Shoot me an email (matt@matt-brennan.com) when you are available to meet. Website is #1 on the list to do before going after the sponsors.

Something like the Vancouver website; HP Vancouver

For our Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows event last year, this was created by one of the volunteers; HP Ridge Meadows

Edmonton also has a nice page; HP Edmonton

Vancouver is a really nice one to go by. It needs to contain a built in blog, video support, photos, sign up, etc.

Hey Peter. I figured we would do a kick off meeting in September. I was going to get the local news paper to do an article on Help Portrait in which it would call for volunteers and sponsors. 

I am currently in the process to moving to Chilliwack; sold my place now looking for a house to buy. I am also working on a dinner fundraiser for the Tiny Light Foundation which will take place in May. So let's have a casual meeting January if people are up for that. But like I said the formal one will be in Mid September when everyone is back from holidays. 

As for immediate tasks, secure venue in downtown for Dec 8. A place where people feel safe going for their picture. We also need someone to do a formal website. If no one knows how, I can step in but I rather leave this up to someone that does this on a daily basis. And most important, the corporate sponsors. I plan to start doing my rounds to these companies before Summer. If you want to discuss it further, feel free to give me a shout; 604-817-7517. Thanks again,
