I couldn't agree more. I didn't find out about this project until tonight, but I'd really like to help. It seems a shame to wait until next year to do so.

I work in downtown Chicago, live in Naperville. Anything downtown or within a reasonable distance of Naperville is doable for me.

I want to participate, too!! My photog friend in Memphis told me about Help-Portrait just last night, and I cannot wait to do something meaningful!

How does this work? If there's nothing coming up, can we just start throwing out ideas and put something together? Does the leader of the group have to do something or start the event?

Tell me more, tell me more. :) Can hardly wait!

We are definitely encouraged to work from the grass-roots up. I have another friend not on this thread that is interested in helping too, long before the next planned Chicago event on 12/4. Where are you located? I'm out in the burbs, but my friend and I both work in the loop.
