Hey guys and gals

I want to inform everyone in the Chicago (metro) area that I have set up a H-P site at Park Community Church, where I work. We are located at 1001 N Crosby in the Near North/old Cabrini neighborhood.
I am looking to do something a little different with this year's event, so I am going to be partnering with the church during their annual Christmas store effort to make this day as much of a serving opportunity for our congregation. We have a lot of creatives that attend our church and they rarely have an opportunity to use their right-brained skill sets in the service/outreach capacity. I instantly fell in love with the H-P idea last year for similar reasons.
Please if you are curious as to what I'm getting after in partnering with the church email me at brianw@parkcommunitychurch.org I would love to explain more.

Peace + Love
Brian

Hi Brian - Do you know if there's only supposed to be one event per city?
There can be multiple events per city. The basic idea of h-p is to go out and do. If that means someone on their own decides to take portraits on the streets in Chicago then that's what it means. If we as a community in Chicago decided to host multiple locations, great! It seems almost ridiculous to think that a place as large as Chicago with so many people in need wouldn't have more than one location. Help-Portrait is about those in need, not holding an event. I think that's the best I have as far as explaining that whole situation. I hope that clears up some of the air.
Awesome - thanks for the feedback. That's what I assumed, but just figured I'd check! Thanks Brian.

Count me in!
Hey all

There's some news I NEED to pass on quickly. There have been some snags in the planning of this specific event. We are definitely still going to have the event, and we are definitely having it at Park Community Church. The only change, and it's kind of a big one, is that I have had to move the date of the event and also add a date. So currently, if you are still interested, the event will be held here on both the 14th and 16th of December. Please pass this information along.
The reason for the date addition and change is that we, here at the church, have had dates already set up with our partner ministries for Christmas parties, and the leadership here would like to have the portrait option available at these parties. The Christmas parties are being held here for our at-risk and under resourced neighbors. It's a very complicated and political topic, so I'd prefer to talk about the finer details in person.
Brian -
I'd like to help! Could we meet over coffee to discuss what roles you still need filled and how I might best assist?

I would like to volunteer for the events on 12/14 and/or 12/16. Is there a plan to have some sort of pre-event meeting to get a game plan and to assess what resources are available and what is expected? Don't know if I want to post my phone number here for all of cyberspace to know, but would like to discuss this with you in more detail. I would be willing to meet in your area over coffee at your convenience.

Hi Brian,

I just sent you an email - but thought I would post here, as well.

I would love to help out at this event! I am a hobbyist photographer, and love photography. I also work in the children's wing at Park and teach there at CHA during the week. I would love to help out at one or both of these events - let me know if there is still a need! Rgoldstein@parkcommunitychurch.org :)

Thanks!!
Rebecca
