My good friend Mike Brown and I are meeting with the Alderman of the 35th Ward on Tuesday to scout the location they have offered and hopefully finalize the process with them. They are very excited to have a H-P event and have ensured that we will have a solid turnout. Last year they did Santa photos and had roughly 200 children/families come through.
We will have at least 2 shooting bays, 2 print stations and an organization/post-production station. If we're looking at 200-250 portraits we might add 1-2 more photo bays. We are also in discussion about adding a hair/make-up station and are open to additional ideas.
I currently have 12 volunteers signed up at this site and am anticipating 8-10 more. We would love to have any and all who are willing to serve in the Logan Square neighborhood. I just get concerned that people will be standing around? Any creative ways to get people involved to enhance the experience of our guests?
Looking specifically for hair and make-up volunteers at this time. Anyone interested or know someone who would be? Please let me know!
If you have any questions you can reach me at: anthony@anthonybarlich.com, @abarlich on twitter or give me a shout 412-628-6517.
Be Well!

Permalink Reply by Tess Kearns on November 11, 2011 at 1:41pm Anthony, as determined as I have been to get my own group going in the Uptown neighborhood, I have had very poor response. I would love to join your group and am willing to do all I can to help. I had some ideas to get my event going that I could discuss with you. I am now going to do some research in the Logan Square neighborhood to see if they would work there. I will contact you via email if my ideas are possible and we could go from there.
Looking forward to helping,
Tess

I live in Logan Square and would love to help out the community and volunteer for this noble effort in any way I can. I know I"m late to the game but hope I can do something for the neighborhood.
