Tess,

Thanks very much for the welcome! I will bring at least one extra media card and a Netbook with the trial version of Lightroom 3 installed, however it doesn't have a CD burner.

Welcome Tim!  Brian, it was fine.  It was more about equipment and needs of each site.  The one thing that was discussed that I want to share with everyone is the reason we are all here.  There will be pressure and delays but we don't want to lose sight of our subjects experience.  I think it will come together wonderfully.  Everyone that wants to shoot will get to shoot!  Bring your cameras and please bring one or two extra media cards so there won't be any slow downs (&put your name on them).  If you have a laptop, you should bring it and install the trial version of Lightroom 3.  By Friday, there will be some video resources on workflow from capture to printing.  I will keep posting as info comes out but you can also join the Chicago, IL USA group.  I want to encourage that, but I know it means tons of email, so I will try to duplicate all important info here too.  Tick, Tick, only one more full day!

Sorry I'm a bit late to this group, but I'm interested in helping out as a photographer on Saturday at Cornerstone Community Outreach. I've filled out the volunteer form. I'm not sure I'll be able to make the meeting at Moody if it is in the evening.

We'll have 2 meetings this week- one tomorrow at Park Community Church and Friday at Moody. Fill out that volunteer form below and I'll make sure to email out details. I particularly encourage people to come on Friday, as we'll be doing a workflow workshop to demonstrate the most efficient shoot to print process. I only have one printer for Cornerstone, so it will all have to be as efficient as possible.

Hi all, I forgot to ask you guys to fill out the volunteer form.  Please do this when you have a moment.  Just to be clear, our event is at Cornerstone Community Outreach.  http://bit.ly/HP_Chicago_Form .  After the meeting tomorrow, I will send you all the information that you will need to be fully informed.  Thank you again for volunteering, I know this will be a great day.

T--I've got a laptop. I'll ask Scott to load LR3 onto it. Also, pls get us each a t-shirt. Me: women's med, him: men's large.

Send me an email letting me know what else we need for the day in terms of people.

I just came back from the Back of Yards event and I was reminded again how this project speaks to me! I need to ask if anyone has a laptop that they could bring to process the pictures. Lightroom 3 is awesome and if you don't have it, you can download a 30 day free trial. We will be printing photos and if laptops allow, burning CD's to send with subjects. Also, I found cute red t-shirts at Old Navy that say "Take a photo, it'll last longer". They are $8 if anyone wants me to pick one up for them. Let me know your size.

I just wanted to touch base with a short update.  Things are coming together.  I have backdrops and printer paper.  I am still working on lights and organizing volunteers.  If you have any friends or family that would like to help with posing, printing or general herding of models, they would be welcome.  The day looks to start around 9 - 9:30 and go until about 4.  If you are not able to stay the whole day, I would appreciate getting your ideal availability so I can set up a schedule.  I am getting very excited and I can't wait to meet all of you and work together.

Take care, Tess
