My Charlottesville Camera Club friend Dick Thomas (and a volunteer for Saturday), has been in contact with Jim Hanchett, News Director of Channels 19/16/27 to see if some coverage or other promotional effort could be made for Saturday's event.

Lucky Us!
I just did an interview with our local CBS19 affiliate (Comcast channel 6), and hopefully we'll get a mention on tonight's news sometime between 5:00 and 7:30. I simply re-articulated the Help-Portrait mission statement and goals, and also told the interviewer that we still need a hair & makeup person. I stated our shoot hours of 12:00 to 4:00, and the address for the Portico church. Hopefully a few disadvantaged folks out there will hear/see this segment - and we'll be able to put some smiles on their faces tomorrow!
I've also invited the CBS guys to come by tomorrow as well, if they'd like to shoot some B-roll, or interview other volunteers, but told them they can't shoot (directly) the folks who are having their picture taken - unless that person gives permission. They may show up, so keep your fingers crossed...
