I was under the assumption that we already have photographers lined up for this, but I wasn't sure WHO that was going to be based on our meeting Saturday. I've done a little bit of portraiture, but I'm certainly no expert. If need be, I can supply some equipment and shooting. I'll bring my gear with me, and if it's needed - I'll be happy to help.

Canon EOS 50D (15 megapixel)
24-135mm kit glass
50mm prime 1.8
Tripod/Grip/Flash
10' x 12' backdrop frame w/black muslin sheet.
Smith/Victor lighting kit - 2 floods with umbrellas + 1 fill light.

I can be there from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday.

I can bring my 2 X AB1600s, 2 large soft boxes, 2 umbrellas, and I also have stands and modifiers for the small stuff (on-camera flash) too. I also have a small photo printer I can bring to the table as well.

Joel, are you going to issue a "roll call" by the end of this week of who's going to bring what?

i think come friday, i will figure out what all we need and have coming and make a list of everything for everyone. so, yes, there will be a roll call.

I just bought 4x6 paper that we will be printing on, on a sony snap lab. I also have 4x6 plastic sleeves for the prints.

We will have several computers and then save the photos to CF and take to the printer and print it.

Same as Christian DeBaun... not an expert (yet) but have enough knowledge to man a camera and handle equipment. I will bring my 40D and glass as well as my not so good tripod and my Macbook Pro (LR & CS4). Put me where you will find me most usefull, I will wear any hat! I will have to take my gear with me when I leave (3:20) because I have a job right after that I have to use it for.

I'm planning to bring a MacBook Pro, 1 AB1600, stand, softbox. I'm sure it goes without saying that most of us are bringing our cameras.

Right now it sounds like we'll have in the way of lights the following:

Christian - Smith/Victor lighting kit (2 floods, fill and umbrellas)
Nick S - 2 AB1600's, umbrellas, stands and softboxes
Chris P - 1 AB1600, softbox
Joel M - 1 AB 1600, softbox, stand

Any other light gear out there to be brought?

Ill be bringing two AB800's a 5 ft. softbox. plus a few things im getting from a friend.

I will also have a 10ft black backdrop we can hang.

Also will bring all my cameras and glass.

I might bring my mac pro and epson 3800 in case we want to print a few large images for someone extra special.

I have one umbrella and a couple canon cameras I can bring.

I called PVCC drama dept. inquiring about possible back drops, hair/make-up... although they wish that they could help, they have nothing to offer.

Next, UVA drama dept., costume shop has an idea for hair and make-up... will call me after a few phone calls to people that have access to kits and ability. Prop dept. does not have backdrops of fabric small enough to transport.

FINALY!! Live Arts has at least a red velvet and a black (velvet?) aprox. 8x4 backdrop with stand or some kind of improvised support. Can someone bring Gaffers tape and/or clamps just incase? I am picking these items up from the tech director tomorrow @ 9 am. They may have more to offer, I will find out in the AM.

Hi, I'm a second year photography student at Charlottesville High School (Rachel Zahumensky is my teacher, she's also a member of Help Portriat). I will do anything to help, including taking pictures. I have a violin lesson at 12 in Free Union, so I can be there from 1:30 to whenever.
I have:
a lame ol' D40
the original Nikon lens
a Tamron Macro lens (18-200 mm)
a tripod
an ibook G4 (anything helps, right?)
