This is the thread for all things related to food and beverage on the day of the event, including donations for this need, procurement, shopping lists, and coordination on the day of the event.

Joan has agreed to serve as the general coordinator of all things related to the food aspect.

Happy to chip in. Constant coffee is the only request I would make. Our studio keeps a variety of BreakFast bars around to handle hungry talent or those with low blood sugar. Let me know about how to get Joan some money.
The letters we sent out resulted in a $250 gift certificate (plus free paper goods) from Golub Corporation that we can use at Price Chopper, one $25 gift certificate from Wal-Mart, and one $50 gift certificate from Sam's Club. I believe the Sam's Club and Wal-Mart gift cards can be used at both stores. Panera Bread said they would donate some breakfast pastries, not enough for 100 people, but some. I don't think we'll know how much until that morning. Sicilian Pizzeria will donate two small pizzas, 8 cuts. I don't see my requests getting anywhere else. I have not heard back from Subway or Dunkin Donuts. I have called, stopped by, and left several messages but no return call :( I am willing to physcially pick up the Panera Bread and Sicilian donations that morning/afternoon. I can also go to the grocery stores, if that will help Joan. I'll do whatever needs to be done, just let me know. Thanks.

I'll keep trying Dunkin Donuts to at least get some coffee!
Angela, will you be at the meeting tomorrow (12/1)? I know Joan can't be there but I should be. Joan and I can do the shopping for foodstuffs but how do you want to work the money aspect? Do you want to give us the donations so we can shop with them or have us shop and then be reimbursed? We have a better direction now on what kinds of foods we'll be serving. We have moved away from trying to provide breakfast and/or lunch type meals for the participants and instead, will be purchasing nutritious and portable snacky type foods like granola bars, apples...(whatever we can get on sale too). We have a donation of 10 lbs of cookies and enough coffee so far for 19 pots. Let me know what you think.
Hi Deb, Yes, I will be at the meeting tomorrow. I may be a little late b/c I am volunteering in the nursery at the church until 7:00 pm. I will bring the Price Chopper and Wal-Mart gift cards to you tomorrow, the Sam's Club gift card won't be available until Dec. 1. I was told I could stop by anytime after this date. I'm glad/relieved that you have coffee! See you tomorrow.
Just realized tomorrow is December 1!!! I am not sure if I wil have time in the day to go to Sam's Club,I will try though.
As Deb says, we have moved away from providing meals and mre towards providing food that can be taken away. Although one of our early thoughts was that we would have food available while people wait, the issue came up that folks might prefer to have the photo taken first. If they got all gussied up with makeup and the kids are all neat and tidy, they aren't going to want a jelly donut smeared all over them!
