Hi everyone,

This is just for those who might not have checked out Cambridge Help-Portrait's event (4-7pm).

Last year we photographed 70 Iraqi refugee families with around 20 volunteers.

We are repeating the event again this year.

Great news, everyone! We have a location and non-profit partner! We will be working with Hyde Square Task Force in Jamaica Plain this year: http://www.hydesquare.org/

 

I also just finished putting up http://help-portrait-boston.com. It's not all the way complete, but I wanted to get something up and running while we recruit volunteers/talk to people about this event. I'm going to post a discussion thread (above) detailing some of our needs and then we can go from there.

Greetings everyone!  Just wondering if any dates/locations have been picked for this upcoming year.... I'm definitely interested in being part of the Help Portrait movement here in Boston.  Please message me if I can be of any help, happy to get the ball rolling just don't know where exactly we have to begin.  Have anyone ever set up a meet n' green amongst the Help Portrait community members to brainstorm ideas?  Obviously all of that can be done on this nifty comment wall but I was just curious if anyone has met to date and discussed any details.  I'm new to all of this...and certainly look forward to being a part of it!

I also see notes suggesting Cambridge for location -- any other votes?  (I'm kind of ambivalent personally.)  People who've done this before, does it make more sense to ask them to come to us, or to try to find a room or two where they are, or... ?

if not, do people have suggestions for orgs to contact? I see notes about prior years; anyone know if those folks are still around, or have a specific contact person?
