The other Boston group, the Boston Photo Mob, completed their Help-Portrait event this past Saturday. I'm not sure if anyone has continued planning for this group. The other groups site is:

I have a single Help Portrait photo shoot scheduled for the 12th at 9:30am in Somerville, Mass. I'm photographing one family at their sec 8 apartment and looking for one hair and make-up person for three people covering three generations. If interested, please send your info to sam@samogden.com. Thanks - Sam

I would love to get involved in something like this... I'm a student at New England School of Photography, so this is a great opportunity to volunteer in any way possible and to exapand within the community

There is another group, Boston Photo Mob that is organizing an event. Is that different from this group?

I'm really excited about this! I'm more of a videographer than a photographer, but I'd still love to help you all out.

Glad to help in any way I can. Have some equipment. DSLR, camera stands, etc.

I'm in Jamaica Plain and have a number of community contacts -- organizations that have rooms that would let us use them for free (in all likelihood). It's just a matter of asking. For example, District E-13 has a community room that the Community Service Office manages and lets community groups use. It's your typical institutional room with lots of fluorescent lights, but that's manageable.

Spontaneous Celebrations over on Danforth has a big place they might let us use. One of the churches here (St Mary's?) over on Brookside would most likely donate their large hall.

I can think of more just in JP.

It sounds like our main priority is finding a location to set up some type of backdrop/simple studio. I'm sure once that gets figured out, the rest will take care of itself. I wouldn't mind volunteering some of my gear, but we just need a space first.
