We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came and volunteered as a greeter, makeup artist, hair stylist, griller, baker, photographer, editor, runner, smiler, encourager, hand shaker, and hugger for Help-Portrait 2011! You all made the day special for a lot people, us included!
We hope that, as you look back on the day, you remember things that will be with you for the rest of your life. We hope you got to hear some of the stories from those who came to have their portraits given to them. We hope you got to see the smiles on their faces when they looked at themselves–some for the first time–printed in full color. To see a child's face light up with laughter when she realized it was really her in the photo.
Thank you for sharing your time, gifts, talents, life! Thank you for expanding your sphere of influence into a place you normally would not. Thank you for making one day, in the life of another, better than the day before, and giving them something they can take home to remember it by. We can't say thank you enough.
From all the leaders!

Attached are the team photos for both locations.
Please visit the H-P Baltimore Facebook page and share the stories behind the photos and about your personal experience this year at Help-Portrait Baltimore! We'd love to hear them!

Permalink Reply by Katy Linda on December 13, 2011 at 11:10am It was a great day, I'm so thankful for everyone who helped both behind the scenes with donations, baking, etc, and during the event. The stories I heard were amazingly powerful. I hope we will get all of the photos up on the Facebook page and we will get to hear the stories behind them.
Permalink Reply by Wes Linda on December 13, 2011 at 11:17am Thank you so much for an amazing day! All of your hard work and dedication helped us make Help Portrait 2011 the best yet in Baltimore! I'm so excited by Help Portrait 2011 that I want to get started on 2012 right away!
Permalink Reply by Geoffrey Baker on December 13, 2011 at 11:56am Seems a shame to not be able to share the images with greater Baltimore. If there was a space/gallery downtown to show the work, it would make a GREAT show. I know the clients picked the image they liked, but looking through some of the other photographers "outtakes" there is so much more to be seen. Thoughts?
Permalink Reply by Wes Linda on December 13, 2011 at 1:25pm I'm not sure on how this would roll from inside the Help Portrait community. My initial reaction is one of hesitation, but maybe there is someone at Help Portrait national that could give some guidance on this type of idea.
I have always thought a "faces of Baltimore" would be a fun thing to do, but had thought about simply setting up somewhere downtown and catching people walking by.
Any one else have some thoughts?
Permalink Reply by Wes Linda on December 13, 2011 at 3:01pm Add on thought here. Another group posted about doing a silent auction as a fundraiser for their local group. It might be nice to print and have portraits up during the event. At least, I think it'd add a nice touch for me.
