Pol stopped by yesterday and we talked about the event. I thin if we ever do this again we need a captive audience, such as at a specific event - like a dinner/dance. No one enjoyed being a street barker and it was a tough sale.

I'm still working on the image retouching, but should be able to finish up by the weekend.

I haven't forgotten about Greg. He's not subscribed to this forum, so I plan on sending him a separate email this morning.

Stuart, you did great ... what are you talking about?! I think everyone who stopped by had fun. and it could not have been an easy task to organize this event in only 2 weeks. way to go!

and don't forget Greg with his mad videography skilz.

It was great to meet you all in person!

Clarence - without your lights we would have been at f/0.0

Pol - without your IT skills our prints could have doubled as white balance cards

Michelle - without your backdrop we would have been staring at a brick wall

Lauren and Clay - without your street hustle our photo count would have consisted of yourselves and Chriselda's family.

Chriselda and Miguel - without your signage and sales pitches we might we might not have had anyone stop and think hmmmmm.

So thank you all. I know we didn't make a whole lot of money, but it was fun. If we ever do this again we should have a captive audience, like at an event/parade...etc. Oh - and next time someone else should do the shooting. As anyone could tell I'm not a couples portrait person.

Time for breakfast.

Mine is a mini-USB. Do any of the Canon SLR's have a full size USB connector?
Pol Santos Comment by Pol Santos on February 14, 2010 at 4:15am
question does ur camera use a mini usb or full size usb cord?? also my cord is somewhat short 3-4 feet. im sure we can make it work but yeah if you have your own that came for your camera I would bring it just incase ha.

As promised, here's the essential list for Sunday.

Pol - laptop, power adapter for laptop, mouse, USB cable for tethered shooting, power strip, camera

Lauren - camera

Greg - video camera

Clarence - 200WS and 400WS lights, umbrellas, c-stands, cybersync triggers, camera, sand bags

Chriselda and hubbie - camera, poster(s), easel

Michelle - camera, backdrop stand, white seamless paper, business cards from Nelson's.

Stuart - extension cords, white balance card, camera, printers, USB cables for printers, power strip, paper, ink, signs, blue painter's tape, camera slide for greg, no-doze, mountain dew, and a four leaf clover

Remember, call time is between 3:30 and 4pm. I recommend getting down there early because parking is going to be a pain later on and street parking is free on Sunday. A person from the Red Cross will be there to take the donations at the end of the night, so we don't have to worry about that.

Also, I don't know if Michelle is going to take home the white seamless at the end of the night, so bring $5 for her in case she decides that she doesn't want to keep it. I may have trouble taking it home in my car, so we would have to figure that out Sunday.
