Hi Denver Group! Under 2 weeks to go!!
We still have volunteer time slots available. If you want to do it- I want you to do it, so just let me know! Trying to get hour long shifts for people (so a lot of our photographers can shoot). But nothing is written in stone. Everything is open at this point so speak up!
This is just a general guide for the day. It will be flexible and I'm sure it will change. I'd just like to make certain ahead of time that we have every station covered at any given time.
Notice that there are Station Leaders listed. Please use them as a point person now and on the day of for coordination and questions.
Thank you!

What kind of skills are required for "photographer's assistant?" I am a novice photographer and am available to help in any way I can. I can be there from 10 am until whenever...
Permalink Reply by Chelsea Midkiff on November 29, 2011 at 10:59am Photographers assistant would just help grab a guest/group to bring to the photographer you are paired with, help them pose etc, and help run the SD cards to editing when the time comes.
Permalink Reply by Joshua B Hallman on November 29, 2011 at 9:43am It looks like we have enough photographers and I would be happy to be an assistant all day.
Chelsea--I would be happy to be a photographer's assistant all day as well.
Permalink Reply by Tim Norman on November 30, 2011 at 2:36am That sounds wonderful Ellen. We would love to have you for the event as a photographer's assistant. Do you want to help setup and breakdown? Or what is the time frame you are available to help?
Tim,
I'm glad I can help!
I probably won't be able to get there until between 9:30 and 10. But I can stay through breakdown or about 6 pm. (I don't like to leave my dog at home alone for more than 8 or 9 hours)

Permalink Reply by Tim Norman on December 2, 2011 at 10:35pm Great Ellen! I'll put you down for the Assistant position. If you can't stay to the end I think we will be ok. And I understand about not wanting to leave your pets home alone for too long.
Sounds great! see you next week!
Permalink Reply by Tim Norman on November 30, 2011 at 2:58am Great to hear Joshua. We could use the help. We are looking to have 5 photographers shooting every hour, so there are some time slots still open since no one has specifically spoken for them. Do you want to help set up and tear down as well? We will be setting up form 8:30a to 10 and tearing down from 4-6. Also do you have any photo gear (backdrops, lights, etc) that could be setup in the morning and stay up the rest of the day?
Permalink Reply by Joshua B Hallman on November 30, 2011 at 11:21am Hi Tim,
I can do the setup no problem. I do have another engagement that conflicts with tearing down, so I will have to leave by 5. I will also be bringing a friend with me. Between to two of us we will have 2 Nikon speed lights, 4 light stands, 2 reflector holders, two tripods, Exposure disc, and batteries. We do not have radio triggers, so I'm not sure how reliable the optics will be in the midst of all the other shooters, but hopefully we can make it work. I have thought about acquiring a 24" softbox, but I am not sure how usefully it would be for large groups. Had any experience with that?
Permalink Reply by Tim Norman on December 2, 2011 at 10:43pm No problem about the 5p. We'd appreciate any help you can give.
Yes a 24" softbox is nice for a solitary portrait but the farther you get away from your subject the harder the shadows will become. We will be doing a mixture of groups and solitary portraits. So it might be handy at times. I think many of the stations right now look to be using optical flash sync. Perhaps we will be able to shield off the light from each other. I'm not sure of what the place looks like where we will be or how close the stations will have to be.
But please bring all the gear you both have, and make sure to have your names on them. We may be able to use them in a station. And if not then you can put them in the trunk of your car.

Put me in whatever slots you need to fill. I can do anything from Editor, Photographer to Photographer Assistant or if you find some other need, I can do that as well.
