I had the location all set and ready to go. We have a 4000 square foot location which is AWESOME. It has perfect lighting, outlets every 10ft and nice tall ceilings and an open floor plan.

I spoke to the owner again today and he said the only thing we really need is to show that Help Portrait is a certified non profit and liability insurance..

I have NO IDEA how to deal with liability insurance for an event that is not owned by myself.

Does help portrait have a general liability plan that covers officially sanctioned events?? What do I do? Is there a temporary policy I can get for a single day low cost??

Katherine, my agent told me that you can get insurance event under the Help-Portrait tax ID number and you just specify it as your location.. SO mine will be with the help-portrait parent organization insurance the NEW HAVEN ONLY event..
Thanks -
How big is your event getting? My attorney just hit me with issues concerning LLC's....
Any thoughts?
We have 20 photos, 20 general volunteers, and a LOT of other crap.. Its pretty big, but we haven't required an LLC yet. Our insurance lady told me that it wouldn't be hard to write up insurance coverage for the event under the help-portrait ID# but as a [city name] Chapter.. So we are the New Haven Chapter of Help_Portrait.. Our insurance is under the main Help-Portrait but it only covers the New Haven Help-Portrait event.
