As many of you know, there are a lot of groups that are out of date and no longer relevant. The problem is, we don't know which are active, and which aren't. So we need your help.

If you are leading or the admin for a group, and are planning an event this year, please update the title of your group to the following format:

City, State/Providence, Country - 2011

Here's how you make that change:

  • Go to group home page
  • > Options
  • > Edit Group
  • Make change to group name
  • > Save

Please note: Inactive groups will be marked for deletion by November 1, 2011.

Don't forget to let us know if you're a local leader. We need to hear from you

There's no way for us to change the group owner, but you could create your own group. Sorry about that. You could create your own group and invite the members from the current group to join yours!

How about gaining admin status? Does Scotty have to do that?
Right after asking about this, the owner changed the name (as requested by you guys), and I've been trying ever since to get in touch with him to give me administrative access, with no luck. What do I not have access to by merely being a regular group member that I need to know as the leader?

Just wanted to ask you, I am a photographer from Bangalore, India, and as of now no one has taken Initiative to organize a event for HELP PORTRAITS here.. And I have a small group in Bangalore consisting of 700+ members in it.. And I organize photowalks every sunday here Includes Amateur, Hobbyist, and Professional Photographers..

So can you tell me the procedure how to organize an event here ?? It will really great..!!

I need to echo the issues that Connie is experiencing. I am ok with creating a new group but I would ask that HP please delete the other group so as not to have confusion when the press or sponsors might google the local event.. I don't want them to find this "abandoned" page.. It hasn't actually need deleted because I had been posting on the wait often.. But if this is the case, i REALLY would like it to be removed. I tried to contact the original creator but no reply.

Hi!, of we are new to this, how can I create a group?

at the top of the page click on "GROUPS" Then you will see a little square with + ADD in it. Click that and it will make a group!

Please give me admin access to the Louisville, KY group. Our owner does not respond to messages and we are growing rapidly. I am leading this group and need to know what's going on. I'd gladly start a new group, but, like BSC above, I don't want there to be confusion this late in the game.
